ANÂ ÏŸ wicked Team Fly feelings ahead -- if you cannot handle that then get outta dis kitchen!! u gon' get burned
Honey closed her eyes, ready to take a nap as Artie blogged. She didn't mind, really. As long as she was near Artie, the cheerleader was at peace and comforted. She'd been spending so much time at practice lately, or in the sewing room, that she made sure that she was in Artie's room every time she was free. But as soon as she felt two arms wrap around her, her eyes fluttered open. "Sup, boo?" she asked, leaning up and nuzzling her nose into Artie's neck.
Artie "Nuffin, muffin," he answered, a reflexive smile blossoming out over his face at her affection. Instantly, he knew he made the right decision with choosing her over the internet. "I'm just spending time with my tenderoni. 'Sup with /you/, precious?" Artie rolled over onto his side so that he was facing her, adjusting his grip to encase her more comfortably in his strong hold.
Honey wrapped her arm around Artie's side, pulling herself closer to him and fitting their bodies together. "I am honestly about to sue this place for not turning on the heat already. I'm freezing!" she whined, the fingers of her other hand clutching onto Artie's shirt. "But I missed you, today. Cheer practice is getting legit because, you know, football system. Gotta be good to cheer for your roommate, right?" She giggled, rubbing her face in Artie's chest.
Artie Easing against her frame, Artie clicked his tongue thoughtfully. "No need to get paid, mi'lady. How's this?" he asked, transitioning legs beneath a few hefty layers of covers and quilts -- his mother went a little crazy the day she helped him pack up things for his dorm. He pulled the blankets up over Honey's shoulders and tucked her in tight, keeping her cradled against his chest for warmth. "I missed /you/. At least you're off doing something beneficial for the school if /I/ can't have you."
Honey sighed, resting her head on Artie's chest. "Right. I just hope I don't fall on my face," she mumbled, gazing up at him. She settled into the sheets, still conscious of the fabric of his pyjamas against her bare arms. She lived for these small moments; secretly, she was happy beyond expression that Artie stopped blogging just to lay with her. "I missed you too, boo," she whispered, leaning up to kiss Artie's cheek sweetly.
Artie "You won't fall on your face. Trus' me, boo. I'm gonna be right up there in the front row during half-time, and I'll be cheering for you. Like the /Cheerio's/ Cheerio," he chuckled. As she reached up to peck his cheek, he could instantly feel the warmth of a blush creeping all the way up his neck. Like she'd left his skin on fire. He smiled shyly, returning her kiss by feathering his pout over her forehead after flicking his gaze briefly down to her lips. They hadn't actually had their first real kiss yet -- how was he supposed to know when the appropriate time was? People usually had to come down to his level to kiss him, so he'd never had to worry about being the first to lean in. Maybe he should ask her... "I have a thimble for you," he told her after a moment, grinning. "In case you ever want me to give it to you, just let me know. But no pressure."
Honey hummed, not completely comforted by Artie's words of encouragement but very nearly there. She ran her hand up Artie's side's, reaching toward his hair to play with it for a little. He always bragged about how it was baby soft; surprisingly, he was actually right about that. Honey found that she was more often than not playing with Artie's hair. When he spoke again, she could practically feel her heart leap out of her chest. Of course she knew this was coming eventually, but... but kissing Artie would make everything so real. They wouldn't be just best friends anymore after that, would they? She grinned at the boy, shaking her head lightly. "Only you would make that reference," she murmured. A second passed before she realized that that comment could be taken the wrong way, and she didn't want Artie doubting himself, especially not now. "It's cute," she gushed out, inching up just a bit to brush her lips against his, softly and lightly.
Artie chewed on the inside corner of his lip as he watched Honey's face; gauging her reaction. Often he had a very bad habit of putting his foot in his mouth, so he could never really know if what he did or said was socially appropriate or not until he got a response. "Mm," he hummed towards her, thinking for a split second that he'd just made an idiot of himself -- going too fast /and/ being a total dork at the same time. Double bogey. How great... His eyebrows then shot up at her next words, he barely having time to mutter a "thank you" in return before she'd leaned up to kiss him. It was quick, but good; short, sweet, and perfect. He knew it was, too, because he felt chills running down the length of his spine as he tilted towards her, and not just any little cheek peck could do that. Pulling back, his face nearly split in half by the wide grin he was sporting and he ducked his head, pushing his glasses up nose's bridge shyly.
Honey brought her hand to cup Artie's cheek, her thumb brushing against his soft skin. She blushes, not realizing how much she would like kissing Artie, even if it was short, and even if her insides felt as though they might burst. Something so brief gave her more of an adrenaline rush than cheerleading or flying to Paris ever could. She giggled shyly, charmed by his goofy grin. "Mmm, sorry if I'm kind of suckish, boo. I haven' t had much experience..." she reminded him, her usual confident and only slightly cocky demeanor vanishing as it always did when she was with Artie, lying like this. She glanced down, too nervous for eye contact. Her other hand reaches out for Artie's as she alces their fingers together and looks up at him once again.
Artie shook his head, glancing up over the frame of his glasses. "Nah, yo. You're good by my standards. That was really... awesome," he told her through a quiet laugh -- though through his sudden frazzled state, honesty could be found. He really liked kissing Honey. His smile had yet to falter as he squeezed her hand with their fingers laced together, joining perfectly like two sides of a zipper. "Becca is gon' wig out when you tell her," he said, resting his forehead against her's and meeting her gaze. She was so undeniably adorable; her blush, her giggle, her smile... Cocking his chin towards her, he placed another soft kiss right on the corner of her lips. "That one was for luck."
Honey bit her bottom lip, gazing up at Artie, so content and happy for the first time in a long time. She nearly squeals when Artie mentions Becca, but it turns halfway into a groan because she knows that she's in for a bunch of "I told you so's" and "How was it?" and "Mah babiessss!" tomorrow. But she laughs it off, thrown pleasantly off guard when Artie kisses her again. The blankets are suddenly too warm, but she doesn't mind in the slightest. She lets out something like a purr and kisses the tip of Artie's nose affectionately. "Yeah. Uh-huh, sure," she mumbles, pressing her lips to his again, maybe longer his time, her hand squeezing Artie's gently. Her heart races and she pulls back with a blissful sigh.
Artie slipped his eyes closed into Honey's next kiss, memorizing the feeling of being this close to her -- soft and warm, like she was another blanket wrapped tight around his frame. Electricity was thrumming through his whole body, and when he pulled away from her lips, he almost felt like he needed to catch his breath. "Daaamn, woman," he teased, his grin unable to get any wider as he made an exaggerated point to push some of their piled covers off and fan his neck with his free hand. It was hot enough in the room now that he wanted to unbutton his shirt, but he thought Honey might take that a certain way, so he refrained. Just cuddles and kisses were /more/ than enough for him tonight.
Honey rolled her eyes, failing at stifling a laugh. She relaxed against Artie, conscious of how she exhaled as he inhaled, how their bodies molded into each other. Resting her head against Artie's chest, she just listened to his heart beat for a few moments, content with just being in his presence. "I like kissing you. I like you in general," she blurted out, knowing that she was tired and a little less than making sense from Cheerio's practice.
Artie managed another small laugh at Honey's compliment, his heart swelling despite how silly it was. "Well, what a coincidence -- I like you too! Who would'a thunk?" he teased, tugging his blankets back up over her shoulders and lightly kissing the top of her head. His arms lowered to curve tight around her waist, fingertips gently grazing the small of her back in a soothing motion. "And I also like smoochin' you, too. You're pretty good at it, baby girl. And I don't just say that to everybody," he told her honestly. Nuzzling his cheek against her hair, he started taking deeper and even breaths. It was getting late, and this was usually about the time they either got ready for bed or she went back to her dorm for the night. "Are you going to sleep here or do I need to find another teddy bear tonight?"
Honey blinked up at Artie, the feeling of Artie's lips against her head still burning, tingling, rushing through her whole body. She nuzzles her nose under Artie's chin once more, leaning against him so that he knew she wasn't going anywhere. "Staying. Don't want to get up now. Just wake me in the morning? No going all Edwardo Cullen and watching me while I sleep, and then claiming 'I didn't want to wake you' when I come late to class," she huffed out, a playful pout on her lips. She reached up, fingers lingering along the frames of Artie's glasses. "Ready for bed?"
Artie scoffed at her playfully, biting down on his lip to keep from laughing out loud. "Yes, dear," he rolled his eyes. "No romantic gazing when it's time to get yo' ass out of bed. Got it." He looked down and locked blue onto brown orbs, blinking once with a subtle nod in answer to her question that he was, indeed, ready to hit the hay. They had to wake up at the Satan's ass crack of dawn tomorrow morning for class anyway. One of his hands reached up to undo the very top button of his Oxford shirt and he loosened his collar a bit, immediately molding back against her frame once his glasses were out of the way as well. He held tight to her frame, easing again under stacked covers as the light was turned out. "Sweet dreams, my tenderoni."
Honey smiled, slipping out of bed quickly to slip into Artie's closet, shrugging off her uniform and settling for sleeping in a tanktop and under shorts. She knew she'd get cold, but if she were sleeping under all those sheets she'd be warm enough. Peaking back out, she grinned at Artie and crawled back in to bed. "Right. Sweet dreams, boo." she murmured, drifting off to sleep.
It kind of terrifies me. I like being behind the scenes, so definitely winning doesn't sound like something I would enjoy at all; but losing would be really embarrassing I think. So, I'm torn.
I just want everyone to win.
I have a date though! And she's nominated for queen. Hopefully we'll either win or lose together. Hashtag Team Fly!
