- Cherry Bomb (yeah I stole that name from one of the default characters…. sorry not sorry): A knife-wielding sadist with pink-purple pigtails and a terrifying gas mask (worn entirely for aesthetic purposes) who joined the Desert Rangers for shits and giggles, but accidentally developed a sort of protective instinct over the rest of the ridiculous group. She’s also fallen into a sort of fascination with Lucille, the group’s leader. She’s kinda artsy crafty, and her main time-passing hobby is making jewelry out of polished teeth+bones (animal or human? no one will ever know) and presenting them to Lucille. No one knows shit about her family or past and she’s not inclined to share, unless maybe one day Lucille gets curious enough to ask nicely.

- Lucille: A charismatic, fun-loving, teeny tiny assault-rifle expert who has somehow unanimously been voted in as leader of the squad despite the fact that she’s got no freaking clue what she’s doing. She inspires trust in the others in a way that has them following her like a line of ducklings even in their panicky-est moments. Even Cherry Bomb– whom Lucille may or may not be fascinated with back– obeys her orders without stubbornness or protest out on the field. And Lucille is open-minded enough to appreciate the pretty homemade gifts. Lucille also has Fainting Goat Syndrome (which is an actual game mechanic I’m coopting as a lore thing) so sometimes if she’s about to get badly hit in combat she blacks out and dodges the blow altogether. It’s a genetic thing, apparently, but she doesn’t know which parent it came from because she’s been an orphan for a pretty big chunk of her life. She’s been traveling from settlement to settlement with her sister for years, combining her irresistible smile with her sister’s technical expertise to sell weapons+medical services, but she’s grown tired of that life and wants something more– hence the Desert Rangers.

- “Tires”: Lucille’s biological sister, she shares her teeny height and Fainting Goat tendencies, but little else. She’s quiet and introverted, and though she’s got a sweet butch haircut no one really sees it because she always has her head covered in a hood. She also likes wearing thick pants made of rubber tires, hence the nickname. She’s got another name too but prefers not to give it out too freely, something she and Cherry Bomb have in common. She’s good at shotguns, medicine, and things that either riddle people with holes or go BOOM. She doesn’t really tell anyone this but she sees her role as a sort of karmic balance, fixing people and blowing people up. She and her sister have looked out for each other for as long as they can remember, and though she usually lets Lucille do the talking she does enjoy being around other people as long as they let her do her own thing. Being in Team Echo gives her a nice sense of purpose, and the Rangers are good company.

- “Dirty” Harrie: A skinny tol sniper with brittle bones who was raised by a badass single mother. Since she’s physically fragile she’s learned to be efficient with the movements she /can/ make, which include sniping, lockpicking, safecracking, and wisecracking. Not to mention her mother raised her entirely on silver screen crime thrillers, so her chosen uniform is a shirt and tie with a holster across her chest, action hero sunglasses, and long, flowing hair. She’s the queen of smartassery, but the secret is that the more she wisecracks during a fight the more terrified she probably is. She joined the Desert Rangers to fulfill her childhood dreams and to provide her mom with food and shelter. Her idealistic, emotionally sensitive nature makes her something of an outlier among the more jaded folks in the wasteland, but it also helps serve as Team Echo’s moral compass at times when it’s really, really difficult to do the Right Thing.
