All for One and One for all!!! My Neo Nectar Musketeer Deck Build
Okay Van-Guardians here is my Neo Nectar Musketeer deck list that I used in the Van-Guardians Cardfight Area Tournament. I also will do brief summary listed below talking about my match ups and how the deck worked.
*****This was PRE set 16 tournament******
Grade 0's: (17)
1 x Broccolini Musketeer, Kirah
4 x Chestnut Bullet (Critical)
4 x Night Queen Musketeer, Daniel (Critical)
4 x Blue Rose Musketeer, Ernest (Stand)
4 x Hibiscus Musketeer, Hanah (Heal)
Grade 1's: (15)
4 x Dandelion Musketeer, Mirkka
4 x Red Rose Musketeer, Antonio
4 x Water Lily Musketeer, Ruth
3 x Lily of the Valley Musketeer, Rebecca
Grade 2's: (11)
4 x Cherry Blossom Musketeer, Augusto
4 x Pansy Musketeer, Sylvia
3 x Lily of the Valley Musketeer, Kaivant
Grade 3's: (7)
4 x Holly Musketeer, Elvira
3 x White Lily Musketeer, Cecilia
Okay so I want to point out some of the basic MVP's of the deck.
Blue Rose Musketeer, Ernest (Stand): This card is a absolute must to any pre set 16 Musketeer decks. Simply because you counter blast one put him at the bottom of the deck and look at the top 4 for a better musketeer. It doesn't have to retire another unit, it simply has to help you find a better one. And in several of my matches, especially against decks that caused me to retire this was a great unit, I didn't throw a fit when I drew him simply because I wasn't really losing advantage. Plus it didn't hurt when I drove check him on several games to seal the deal for the win.
Dandelion Musketeer, Mirkka: In my opinion this is the one card Bushiroad needs to release soon that will make any Musketeer build better. Simply because Neo Nectars do not have a special booster, still this card works on the rear guard which helps achieve perfect numbers and my favorite perfect number is 21. Put her behind Augusto and make sure you shuffle your deck during your turn and she becomes a 9k booster. And again she gets her boost even if she is not on the field when you shuffle your deck as long as it was during that turn. Such a beautiful card.
Pansy Musketeer, Sylvia: This card is a clone and several clans have it but I dont think to this extent, when placed on the rear guard or Vanguard reveal the top card of your deck and if it is a Musketeer call it to the rear guard. Oh the free plus 1's!!! Every card in this deck but one is a Musketeer and hell even revealing it wasn't that bad sometimes because it helped shuffle the deck to get Mirkka's effect for. Alot of the time I would call Sylvia, get my free card then retire Sylvia with the effect of another one of my Musketeers and get a stronger unit or a booster. The combos with this card alone won me several games but was also really useful as a way to restore my field if my opponent retired several of my units.
Holly Musketeer, Elvira: This card is what Musketeers needed when they where released in BT08, a 11k Vanguard. She truly is the jewel of the deck mostly because of her two effects. Her basic effect to soul blast one and retire a Musketeer to look at the top 5 of your deck and call a Musketeer is very good and very similar to Cecilia's. Cecilia's might be a little bit better because you do not have to soul blast and since this deck doesn't really soul charge all that often I generally always re rode her as much as possible just to have the soul filled. Plus if you were at limit break you could do this effect and then do your limit break: When a Musketeer is placed on the rear guard from one of your effects you may counter blast one and give this unit +1 Critical......OMG FOR THE LOVE ALL THINGS VANGUARD!!! What a beautiful effect. Because that effect can stack and with a deck that is constantly calling units by card effects it could get very scary. I plan on running this card in post set 16. I think it is to good to pass up just because of both of her effects.
Area Tournament Results:
Round 1: Aqua Force Maelstrom Reverse- Win 2-0. Opponent was having a hard time getting multiple attacks in on me simple because I targeted the rear guards more than the Vanguard.
Round 2: Tachikaze Ancient Dragon- Win 2-1. These damn dinos are a pain to deal with because they also constantly get Criticals out of know where. First match I won and second match I loss because something happen to my computer and regardless of that I had no hand to fend off several huge attacks. 3rd match was a lot of back and forth but I used Elvira's limit break to get the pressure needed to dump his hand and ultimately got a stand trigger for the win.
Round 3: Nova Grapplers Beast Deity Reverse- Win 2-0. So many attacks and so deadly. My one saving grace is that I knew how to play against this deck because my teammate who I constantly practicing against uses this deck. All I had to do was to make sure to guard early, especially in the first game when he broke rode and had 8 attacks in. I started that turn with 2 damage and went to 5 damage but I lived. I was able to make decent numbers against the deck even with a 13k base Vanguard. Second game he was not lucky enough to break ride so the pressure was alot less, eventually was able to win because he had to keep locking two rear guards for the effect to restand. Alot of his drive checks where not triggers. Eventually I was able to win.
Round 4: Genesis Minerva- Loss 1-2. This was a hard match. My opponent ran 12 crits and had a restanding vanguard. Our first match I simply did not have the hand to guard from a restanding 21k vanguard, especially since it gains 5000k when it restands and the crits where flowing. Game two I was able to beat my opponent because he was gradelock at two, needless to say the match did not last long. Game three though was probably the best match I had in the tournament so far. Though my opponent did not break ride he still was able to restand Minerva several times due to me putting my opponent at 4 damage by the time he rode a grade 3. the final play was me no guarding the vanguard attack, I would have been safe if he didn't get a crit trigger, needless to say he got the crit trigger. My first loss. Right before the match I told my opponent "in the words of Obi Wan" If you strike me down I will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine lol. I didn't lose the rest of the tournament and would ultimately take first until the top 8.
Round 5: Aqua Force Maelstrom Reverse- Win 2-0. Second time in this tournament I had to play against this deck, though this player was much better about rushing and using card effects. I attempted the same strategy here: take out the rear guards and put the pressure of extra crits in to effect. Ultimately what one me the game in our second match was Ernest and a critical on the drive check. But Ernest was very helpful in refilling my field after Maelstrom retired one of my units. I remember I was shaking after this match, it was a hard fought battle. At the time my opponent was undefeated and I have him his first loss.
Round 6: Kagero Nouvelle-Dauntless-Dauntless Reverse-Overlord- Win 2-0. This was a crazy match up for both of our games me and my opponent where both gradelocked. It was not pretty either one of us but in both matches where were able to both get out of gradelock. His deck was simply all about the draw and making sure he had guard and the cards he needed at all times. I truly would love to see how many criticals he ran in the deck because I didn't see many. But man was he able to draw. In our first match I even took a direct attack on a restanding Nouvelle and I was able to survive. He retired a lot of my units but again thanks to units like Ernest and Sylvia I was able to swarm the field.
So I ended the tournament in number 1 because of tie breakers and having only lost once. I am very happy with my performance and very happy with the deck. I do hope that Bushiroad decides to release the few cards we need to make this deck an actual reality.
Also I did make it to the Top 8. In the first round I went up against the Genesis deck that I lost to and was able to beat him and in the semi finals I lost to a Chaos Breaker Deck. So I ultimately took 3rd/4th out of the entire competition that had 45 players in it and I was the only Neo Nectar user :)

Team 2XC's Double Playmat!! All clans represented!!
Why Bushiroad
"Sad thing is they messed up something that I actually cared alot about. I mean if anyone remembers last year, Team League was fun, it was different. I made me a better card player, because I knew I couldn't let my team down. This year they have done so much to make Team League disinteresting 1) Only giving players 5 places to attend and qualify. Rumor is it was done to save money. Well I say screw that, make it so your champions when and they have to find their own damn way to the championship. 2) Making your players choose a side between Defender and Invader, and most of the damn teams have been choosing defender. Why because the clans are broken, a team of Revengers, Novelle, and Nova, probably will win every event after June 7th. Why not let teams do what they did last year, as long as you are not running 3 of the same clan you are good to go. 3) Possibly making players pay to get into a convention. You offer free tournaments but you host them at places that make you pay to get in. Smart. That is like saying you can a free dance but you have to wear a tuxedo. 4) You are only giving out 1 set of 3 rare promos to a team. That is it!! Did your printers run out of cardstock? 5) They of course leave out Chicago, and I say this regardless that I live in Illinois. But you took one of the most loyal and most popular places that people who play this game travel to, just because it wasn't hosting convention? Cardfight Vanguard Illinois is one of the largest state groups on facebook and has a loyal fanbase. They have no problem hosting world tournaments here, but forget a team tournament here. 6) I don't know who organizes their tournaments from start to finish, and I hope it is not JD, but they need help, they truly need help, they need to expand their tournaments by having smaller events and do a better job at organized tournament play. Players, people, adults, kids, boys, girls, and whomever WANT to play this game, Bushiroad needs to let them play."-Jonathan Mindham

Buddyfight Challenge: Defining a Meta
Hey Buddies!! So right now in our game, Future Card Buddyfight, we are entering a incredibly exciting time. Since the release of Buddyfight this past January we as players have only collected, traded, and played at a local level and really not have had a chance to see what the true meta of this game is. And with only two major booster sets so far released and one extra booster there has been only limited support and Worlds that card players can choose from. This weekend starts the Buddy Challenge World wide and we will get to see a unique thing happen that generally doesn't happen to much any more, a meta being created world wide. Buddyfight is so new and so unique that we are venturing into uncharted territory. Only one other major card game has simultaneous release and that is Magic the Gathering, but sets released in that game don't generally define a meta right way. Buddyfight is going to offer us a unique perspective of the game that many of us probably have not seen yet. We for the first time will see Championship deck lists, see what decks/Worlds are being played, and unique deck combinations and strategies for the first time on a World wide level. I am incredibly excited for the advancement of this game, and as the Admin of the North American Future Card Buddyfight Facebook group I see on a daily level the excitement of the player base, and I also get to see the continuous rise of members. If you read this and are going to be partaking in one of the Buddy Challenges I thank you for supporting this game and I also wish you good luck.
New Link Joker Break Ride....I believe it locks 3 units if you discard a grade 3.
Auto] LB:4: [Discard a Grade 3 or higher card from hand] When <<Link Joker>> rides on this, you may pay cost. If the cost is paid, choose up to 3 of your opponent's Rearguards and lock them, and your vanguard gains +10000 Power for the turn.[Auto] [(V)] When this card attacks a vanguard, this unit gains +2000 Power for the battle.
