β‘ a pair of hand-painted satoru & suguru teacups β‘
note: these are slip-cast bisque pieces; i purchased them from the studio as blank pieces and painted them before they were glazed and re-fired to create a lovely gloss finish. in-progress photos and me rambling below π
first firing of my satoru teacup is done!!!
colours before & after firing; its crazy how much they change!
progress update for my yuuteapot :3c

getting started on the other side !!
done* painting the suguru teacup! now i need to do the matching saucer & then glaze & fire themβ‘
satoru teacup also finished** !!!
*i may add a few little details. not sure yet
**pending repairs & touchups
didnt get a chance to go to the studio today because of the weather π anyway heres the sketch for the other side of my yuuta teapot + the side i already painted β
note: this is a slip-cast piece; i did not sculpt this. i am painting the design on with underglaze, which dries very pale and will fire much darker and with more saturation once it goes back in the kiln. this is a work in progress and will likely not be finished for several more months. this is about 10-12hrs of work at present.
