Miyu reflects on her first day of school, where she meets Yuna and Rika for the very first time.

She didn’t realize how much of herself was still living back there. And how far away it suddenly felt.

Miyu thought she had forgotten how it felt to begin. But some first steps never really leave you.

Rika decided it was easier to joke than admit she was just as unsure. Miyu shyly laughed—like she didn’t have to face it alone.

Miyu almost kept going—like this wasn’t her moment to interrupt. But something about Yuna made it feel like she was meant to stop.

Miyu spoke like it was the most natural thing in the world. Yuna wasn’t sure what to do, with something she’d never had before.

Miyu didn’t see anything strange—just something worth sharing. And somehow, that made Yuna feel seen for the first time.

Miyu wasn’t ready to see Rika like this. Somehow, the world felt different again.

Miyu didn’t think—she just moved. Somehow, Rika mattered more than anything else right now.

Miyu didn’t leave—even when she could have. Somewhere along the way, Rika stopped being just someone she found.

A week later. Rika said it like it was simple—like it always should’ve been. Miyu felt something quietly fall into place.

Yuna wanted Miyu to see her Judo match. Miyu said yes without thinking—because how could she not? Only later did she realize she’d promised the same moment to two different people.

Miyu told herself she could just watch—like this choice didn’t mean anything. But it already felt like she’d let someone down.

Miyu didn’t choose between them—she chose both. And somehow, that was enough to bring them together.

Miyu didn’t know where it would lead—only that it mattered. And for once, that was enough.

Miyu smiled before she even answered. Somehow, she already knew she was going to say yes.

Three little dots appeared on his screen. They stayed there for what felt like ages. Standing up, he bit his lip and paced across the kitchen floor while the coffee dripped in the background. A minute passed.

Yakko opened his phone, then closed it. opened it again. Closed. Opened. Still the dots persisted. Did he say something wrong? Did he upset Max somehow? Should he not have said how little sleep he'd gotten?

You know my birthday is coming up on Monday, and now that I'm of a certain age, everyone at work was like, 'How will you be celebrating this weekend? ' and I was like, oh, you know, doctors' appointments. Yes, for my birthday on Monday, I'll be getting tested as part of my yearly check-up....such is life. In my 20s, I was whooping it up, and now in my certain age years, I'm going to be hoping to catch a nap.
