    ‘’not to sound like a horrible person but... your hair looks like you’ve just gotten out of bed.’’ catherine was just getting comfortable around people again. she still had to protect herself but she was sick of her father and her uncle being around her. there would be someone else who’s watching her if not them. that’s why she sneaked out with the pure intention of getting herself a nice coffee. but the person who is waiting in the queue with her, just in front of her, looks like they have had the worst day of their life. so she felt like speaking up. maybe she shouldn’t have.

“i’m really really exhausted..” she mumbles softly before tucking her hair behind her ears. for the most part, youra was good when it came to hiding her exhaustion and would usually just brush it off. but the girl was at a point where she was about to just fall asleep, so she didn’t want to worry the other. resting her head comfortably on the other’s shoulder. “i could just fall asleep right now and just sleep for maybe a week.. maybe that is what i will do over my break from school coming up soon.” of course she was joking, she wanted to do something with the other. “i’m sure i can find time for you in the mix.” she states in a small but teasing tone. 

“Look, I don’t know what you want from me.” Dalton shook his head, running his fingers through his hair with a frustrated sigh. It felt like he’d had this same argument a million times–and maybe he had. “I work at night, and I’m with my son during the day. I’m sorry I can’t make every fucking exception to be around. He comes first.”
