Work-wise, he wanted to be a superhero when he was five, a firetruck driver when he was eight (not a firefighter, though), and between the ages of about ten and fifteen he said he wanted to be a teacher, which he actually didn’t, and when people started asking More Serious Questions about his future in that vein, he told them he changed his mind. He did turn his mind towards something in psychiatry and therapy when he was about sixteen (partly because of Josh and wanting to do something good for other mentally ill kids), and pretty much followed Josh into studying Psychology at university, although he did start doubting himself after the first semester (wondering whether his intentions were good and true, and if he’d be any good at it) and thought about taking up cooking/being a chef instead.
Style-of-living (or w/e), it’d depend on whether he was living with someone (either a partner or room/housemate), or on his own. I can see it being more likely to be the latter, because although Jake likes his space, he doesn’t really do being alone very well. And in that case, he could see himself and the other person/people living in either an apartment (that’s roomy enough for however many people [tbh? probs just him and one other person]), or, preferably, a very nice house with a pretty and scenic view. If he’s on his own, then it’s more likely to be a small apartment; #KeepItCosy.
Between settling down / bacheloresque lifestyles -- it’d depend on the verse & interaction, really. It does tend to default towards a more ~single dude life~ in most verses, and in that case, he’d either be on his own or with a roommate (a little bit repetitive of the above paragraph but lmao). In settling down, he’d be Very Much Down for living with his ~signif~ and either getting an apartment or a house (or apartment, then house. baby steps.). And also having a family, whether they be Actual Human Babies or animals he calls his babies. Or both! He’s a Big Softie for both.
