The world so often senses our anger, but do they ever sense our grief? They think we're angry because we're not getting our way, but I'm afraid they don't feel our sorrow over sin's negative, dehumanizing effects. We fail to communicate our anger in a way that says, "You were made for so much more than this." They assume our anger is only because we're not getting what we want. No wonder they tune us out.

Our best approach for reaching people in today’s world is not by going door to door and giving evangelistic presentations, passing out evangelistic tracts, or blanketing our cities with evangelistic crusades. Our best approach is living with the people we’re trying to reach and showing them what human life and community look like when the gospel is believed and embraced.

Making a difference for Christ means bringing every area of our lives under his lordship. We must live in passionate devotion to him at all times and in all circumstances. As we do this, God's renewing power is unleashed through us.

When the church dares to be different, it models for the world what God calls the world to become.
