2. What was one of your first covers with UTAU? Do you have any re-covers you made later that you can share?
this fucking upload right here, i kept it up for the express purpose of pointing out how bad my literal very first usage of utau wasĀ
i mean i kinda cover magnet every year too so i guess iāll try to find a decent one
ok i kept looking around but i couldnt find a recent decent cover... but like, i found a chorus cover i sang with some people, and i donāt even fucking remember who these people were
5. List some UTAU voicebanks that you really enjoy listening to / using.
Denki SaiĀ ( ͔° ĶŹ ͔°)
well i mean tbh i just like female english banks in general because ay easy to write songs for.. then daisy started existing <3
I guess Iām also an Anna Nyui fan? Ā
13. Are you into UTAU characterization or are UTAU more of an instrument to put forth your own characterizations?
(clears throat)
if you are planning to make a vccv english voicebank PLEASE CHARACTERIZE YOUR UTAU!! every vccv english is going to get a personalized song and itāll be SOOOOOOOO much easier to write the lyrics if you just give us basic stuff like likes/dislikes, personality, maybe dere-type
anyway
When it comes to me making banks I love to characterize and I love to not characterize... like, LEXYS and AWG are nearly characterless entirely, but Serena had this whole fantasy magic thing going on (that I wrote when I was 10) and Dominic and Mita are magical too and the Seibetsus are cool and then thereās this WHOLE HUGE STORY WORLD
really itās just like having OCs but with voices!! Like... as long as it has a voicebank itās an UTAU. Ā I love it when people make interesting OCs
but when it comes to using other peopleās banks... Idk, I guess it depends? Ā But generally I choose to use a voicebank because of the voice type, or because of the person who made it. Ā I donāt intentionally pick out a certain UTAU because its character profile aligns with the lyrics of the song I want it to sing.
38D. Do you think UTAU is difficult?
Yes
Honestly a person would only use UTAU if they were into UTAU itself. Ā If some producer wanted to have synthesized vocals, theyāll probably go for Vocaloid or Alter/Ego (or Chipspeech for retro appeal but itās often simpler to autotune a TTS if you donāt need a specific voice like Dectalk or Votrax)
People only really sink into the learning curve of trying to use UTAU when they have a specific reason to prefer that software...
Although a lot of the difficulty is just the process of making voicebanks, using them is a simpler story than being a vb dev LOL
