Ace called everyone to the town’s fire pit this morning, and announced he will be leaving town. There have been too many people pointing fingers, and I agree.

On the way out of town, I ran into Ven and Cipher. Cipher has been lost in the woods for days, and I’m glad to see Ven make it back after we got separated. Ven accused Randon of attacking them out of nowhere, and said that Luther helped them escape. The whole town is hysterical. I just want to do my research. I’m going to make this graveyard my permanent home while we’re all trapped here.

I found four more zombies and made them a house! Now my friend isn’t alone when I’m away. They all seem to enjoy chatting with each other, and with me. One of them really likes the pond I made for them. The overhang is just enough to give them sunlight without burning them.

Ash came by to place flowers on the graves. They are very afraid of my zombie friends but happy enough to be in a graveyard. I don’t understand them.

Eris, Nettie, and Arlan came by to visit while I was out collecting resources. Eris said that Luther had attacked more people, and asked me to be careful.

There was a sudden cold pressure in the air, like a piece of the forest was hurting. We went to the transmission tower to see if anything had happened, and the beacon was gray. We sat around it until it was orange again. It felt nice.

The others wanted me to return to Oakhurst with them, but I’m still rather stay out here with my zombies. They all told me to be careful.

Luther turned me and there was no time to ask more questions: he drank my blood and asked if I wanted to become undead. I said no and he attacked me: he stopped when I asked, but it was too late. He said I’m stronger now but I don’t feel stronger.

Dear Lark,

I read a report in the Blackwyn newspaper a month ago, citing increased undead activity plaguing the woods surrounding the abandoned town of Oakhurst. It said the local people consider the town to be cursed, so everyone is too afraid to enter to find out what’s happening. Exactly the kind of place you and I like to wander, albeit for different reasons.

I’m writing to you from the last town on the road before entering the woods. If I find the rumors to be true, perhaps this place could finally overcome your skepticism. I wonder if the zombies have settled in the old town and made it their own. No matter the result, I’m sure this will be an enlightening trip.

I hope your own research is going well, and I look forward to hearing from you when I return.

I’m living in Eris’ basement now. I can’t feel the cold anymore, so that’s nice. I’ve been living off rotten flesh and Eris’ chickens. They don’t taste great but it’s something.

I’m so hungry. I’ve been running tests. I can’t eat spiders or creepers or carrots. Zombies are edible. Maybe it’s because they were once human? I need more tests. I can’t leave town alone without drawing suspicion. I still need to get back to Luther, I was supposed to bring him eggs. I’m so hungry, Lark, it’s making it hard to think.

I’m living in Eris’ basement. She gave me chickens. Luther sent me here to get chickens, his blood let me last long enough to get here. I’m so hungry still. I need to get him the chickens but I can’t leave town just yet. I can’t leave Eris behind.

I think Sevvia was turned. I felt a strong pull towards their house and then some people I know are vampires showed up, and some others. They looked different later. Do I look different now, too?

I’m so lucky to have Eris. Out of everyone, I think she understands. I’m so scared of what the rest of town will do to me if they find out. They’re all kind because they think I’m human. I need to experiment on myself before they can experiment on me. I’m undead now, like my zombies. To Nettie, vampires are the same as zombies. I know that’s not true, I just don’t know how to prove it yet. I’m too hungry.

I’m sorry. Your letter came too late.

I’ve teased you endlessly about the supernatural, but I never actually believed the stories were true. There may be mobs that we haven’t discovered yet that share traits with them, but everything can be explained. The stories aren’t real. But I am.

For all I’ve researched into the undead, I never wanted to become one. It’s inevitable that we’ll all become zombies and skeletons one day. And now I don’t even know if I’ll join them.

I don’t understand what’s happening.

I need to run more tests.

Dear Lark,

I recieved your letter, though I don't know how. The town I've ended up in seems to be filled with strange people and hapenings.

Unfortunately, while the town does seem to live up to it's reputation of being abandoned and potentially cursed, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of the undead.

Regardless, I will be staying here until I can see more. The other townsfolk don't seem as keen on the undead as I am.

I am overjoyed to hear that you are starting to believe in the undead! I hope your research proves fruitful, please keep me updated! The town I have found also has strange books in crypts and tombs.
