Thank you so much to everyone for your patience. Our writers have submitted some FASCINATING fic pitches, and now its time to pair them with your art! To keep the mystery alive, their pitches will be shared with you after sign-ups. This form will ask your character/genre preferences to pair you manually, so that every participating fic gets artwork, and everyone can support each other!

As a reminder, this is not an accept/reject event. This is a celebration of To Be Hero X, collaborating as a fandom to make new fanworks together! These sign-up forms are not to accept or deny any participant, but to help assign you to the projects you will be most interested in. To ensure all participants have enough time to work together, communicate their ideas, and create their pieces, the Artist Sign-ups will close on May 18th!

So far we’ve gotten 30 Artist signups! That’s incredible!

And with so many of you saying you could do some additional spot art, that’s shaping up to be SO MUCH art for our Author’s amazing fics!!

The sign-ups are still open and will remain open until May 18th, so if you’re an artist who wants a little push to draw something new, or who wants to celebrate TBHX with some collab works, there’s still plenty of time to join us!

This is not an accept/deny event; everyone is welcome! You’ll tell us how much you feel capable of drawing, and what interests you the most. Then, the mod team matches you to our Author’s submitted pitches.

The mini-bang can be any new work you’d like to write that fits into the general content guidelines of no-sex-no-gratuitous-violence. Slice of Life or rare-pair fics are absolutely fine! 

We are asking that works submitted to this are NEW works, however. One of the rules is that no part of your mini-bang submission should be posted or shared before the reveal date, so this rule would include “sequel” fics where the plot is a continuation of an existing posted work. 

This is also because we don’t believe it to be fair to allow some writers to submit works they have already been writing and working on beyond the event timeframe, while others write the 5k strictly within the dates of the event. 

While we are trying to encourage collaboration between artists and writers in this fandom, we don’t want the mini-bang to be used as a way to get “free commissions” of artwork for an existing fic or series. We would like these works to be a new project. (If the plot hook has been sitting in your WIP list for a while, or an idea you’ve thought about before, that’s fine! We ask that you do not submit a piece you have actively started writing.)

As of right now, we are thinking the formal sign-up form for Writers with pitch info will include space for up to 5 pitches, and then a way to rank them 1-5 on which you are most excited to write/confident in writing.

If you feel you can complete more than one fic to the minimum wordcount benchmark, great! There will be a way to note this on the form as well (in the same way Artists will be asked to specifically number the amount of works they feel they can complete, and to what degree, within the deadline.)

As for the confidence, you can always borrow our Trust! That's the point of this, to inspire and collaborate and uplift each other's pieces, to work together as a fandom, and a team, to make folks feel seen with their work! You're signing on to make something, to share something, and that is so inspiring! A huge accomplishment in itself! Have faith that we love your work because you made it!
