What is the #BlackTransLivesMatter Day of Action about? I know a disturbingly large number of trans people of color have been killed, but what are we doing about it on this Tuesday?
The Black Lives Matter Movement is calling a specific day of action for tomorrow (8/25/15) to raise awareness for the violence that black trans folk, particularly black trans women face. Numerous BLM chapters around the U.S. will be conducting different actions in different cities. They’ll range from protests, marches, vigils and more. I’ll send out a list of the known cities conducting actions later today as people are still planning!There will also be a social media campaign asking people to use selfies holding sign saying particularly #BlackTransLivesMatter #BlackLivesMatter #TBackinBlack and #AllOfUsOrNoneOfUs. Videos and blogs are also encouraged.
