This is my first screening of the movie. Watched through Youtube.

The story was like the modern-day The Name of The Rose by Umberto Eco where we have Jesuits Father Saenz as Brother William of Baskerville and Father Lucero as Brother Adso of Melk. Instead of being set in a Benedictine monastery, we are set in 20th century Payatas, Quezon City. When we say that the church and the state should be separate entities, here's a story where the church and the state work together to bring justice through Fathers Saenz and Lucero's forensic lab.

The story was compelling until the end with mysteries popping like Pandora's box. But the satisfaction of getting the answers has resurrected the cat. I have not read the book yet but based on the film, it seems that this was a well-written story. There was no detail left hanging.

What I did not expect was this starting as a Brother William-Brother Adso tandem and ending as Father Saenz as a Jesuit Hercule Poirot. Nevertheless, it is a great story. Glad that this book has been adapted into a film with great actors. Kudos to the casting director for this movie, each actor has matched their characters, each fit perfectly like a glove.
