Do you think youre going to continue tsb into the three???
As of right now, I don't have a concrete answer. My partner is still looking for a job, and depending on what he lands, our circumstances may change drastically.
I want to continue the AU, but it would be irresponsible of me to focus on a fanfic when all this is going on. I'm trying to put effort into original work that might be published someday.
I will say, though, that even if I were 100% able to commit to the fic, it would still take me a while to actually write the first book. I want to plan as far ahead as possible so I can conclude the series to my own satisfaction, and that requires time and a healthy amount of inspiration.
The next novella in the AU will be going up later this year, exclusive to Patreon. I've had it fully written for a while now, and it serves as an introduction to the third arc. I hope our situation is resolved by then, but expect it to launch sometime in November. It will stay on Patreon for the foreseeable future.
And if you want to support me in the meantime, please consider checking out my Patreon, Ko-fi, Twitch, or YouTube. I'm on mobile right now, but the links are in my pinned post, and any little bit helps.

Hello, this isn't a request, more like a question, based on your Gohan and baby!reader. Sincethe reader is quiet (like Gohan), how does Gohan know when to feed them or put them to sleep? Would he have to infer based on how long time has passed?
I figured someone would ask this. In my brain, they have a baby monitor (since the baby does still make sounds). Primarily, the baby will have little spikes in power level when feeling emotion and the escalation depends on said emotion. I hope that makes sense?
First of all, I just want to thank the many many brilliant authors who's story I've just come by either via here on tumblr or AO3. You guys are absolute rockstars and i bow ππΌ
Second, I write this because Im here on a 3-hour bus commute to my goddaughter's 1st birthday and I just so happen to use this time to catch up with all the fics and I thought I'd share with you my favorite little ritual or practice I do whenever I read OL fanfics.
If I am on a commute or having to wait in line for a long time or in a coffee shop for some me time, I usually find a comfortable seat (or sit in the most comfy position I can) and put on the Outlander soundtrack from S1 to S3 in chronological order (S4 soundtrack is going to be released on May 31) and start to read. The soundtrack is just the perfect companion to reading OL fics (and the book too), kinda heightens it all the more for me and I love spending my time and just relaxing in this π If I happen to have some dessert lying around, I whip it out too. ππ»π
Anyone here want to share how they relax or read the books or their favorite reading rituals or habits? π Would love to hear them!
How do you plan for family trees for later arcs? I need advice and all trying to sort out the damn wreath tgat is canon. I feel like when I do I get prick by thorns
The first arc's canon family tree is vague and loose, and it was a good jumping-off point. Obviously, I had to move some stuff around to make things work, but I approached it as if the supplemental material didn't exist, so a lot of the problems that material made didn't exist. I think I made my TB tree either toward the end of the first arc or between Arcs 1 and 2.
I use a free program called draw.io to map out a lot of stuff because I enjoy it, and my family tree is one of those things:
(this isn't the full tree! its not even close to done! there's no way to actually show the entire thing easily. when its done ill put it up on patreon or something lol)
But essentially, I started with the cast of the first book and then fanned them out from there. My main goal was to ensure incest didn't happen, so I did everything I could to prevent it. That means that I filled in gaps with OCs or rearranged canon relationships - and because I already had a pretty good idea of what I wanted for the future (I knew who the parents of the Four would be from the start, for example), I could plan around that.
The other major thing I did to try to keep things organized was to work family by family. For example:
Okay, so when I was trying to see whether or not Ferncloud/Snowstep was a problem, here's what I did:
I began with Brindleface's tree. Brindleface's parents weren't necessary to the story of the first arc, so I didn't go any further back than her. I can fill in those details later (and in fact, i have a whoooole prequel tree above this one. its just largely unfinished). I added Ashfur and Ferncloud as her kits, then attached Snowstep to Ferncloud because they're mates - that means I carry over Snowstep's family tree from a different place in the tree and see if there's an overlap. Which there isn't! So they're clear.
The kits are just listed as 'kits because they're not really part of the story, but they will exist, and I need to know if they'll conflict with anyone else in the future.
Like Brindleface, Dappletail's parents aren't mentioned, so they're excluded - but they do exist in the prequel tree, and only there, because that's way further back than is necessary for this section of the tree. Dappletail is one of the eldest cats in the Clan, and we don't need to know who her parents were!
Brightheart shows up again, but as part of Swiftfoot's tree, and I don't bother repeating all this information about her (or Cloudtail) because then the tree would be a monster to organize:
Dustpelt's tree extends out to the left because there's room for it over there. Could I have arranged it better? Probably, lol.
I then slot this into the Arc 1 tree and mess around with it to make it fit. It's important, I think, to see it all visually. That way, you can keep track of who is where, whether there are any repeats, and if there's someone without any connections at all, like these two:
Patchpelt and Smallear had some problematic relationships in canon, so I chose not to mention any of their families until I figured out their relationships.
I also try to group characters generationally. This doesn't always work, especially as stories go on longer and the tree expands, but I tried to keep characters in similar age groups in the same imaginary horizontal line. Does that make sense? No idea. It does to me, and that's all that matters in this case! Arrange things so that it makes sense to you!
There's not really much else to say, honestly. I think it's hard to make a concrete family tree unless you've already got a good idea of where the story is heading and which characters will be related to who - sometimes that just comes up while you're writing and changes your plans. They're always going to be pretty messy affairs, but I think starting slow and using a program to help you figure it out visually can make it much easier!

Hey mistyfoot? How did you feel about gaining your warrior name, were you afraid that Tinystar would have given you your motherβs warrior suffix
"He never treated me as if I were my mother or my mother's crimes. He saw me as an individual, on my own path, and my warrior ceremony was one of the happiest moments of my life. It felt like he was telling the Clan that I was my own cat and, more importantly, that he was proud of me.
"Plus, well, Mistyfur just doesn't sound that good, does it?"
tinystar, if not mistyfoot, who else would you have considered for deputy?
"I spent a lot of time thinking about it, honestly, even before Leopardstar and Russetstar presented their ultimatum. But there were always reasons to put it off, and I just couldn't bear what it would mean to make that decision. The pain it brought me was too great. Any excuse was considered.
"Perhaps it was kinder that StarClan made the choice for meβ¦"
