right, i know about big data analysis, i read an article about it a few months ago. such a cool concept. but isn’t it usually used to predict large things, not things individual’s futures? that’s a terrifying concept
yeah, i mean the concept is tweaked a little in marvel -- i don't know enough about big data to know whether or not it can be individually tailored (though i think the custom ads on facebook are a result of big data analysis and those are pretty individualized) but they're definitely used to predict outcomes or motivations of groups/situations, which is HORRIFIC. LET ME TELL U. my mother leaned over as sitwell was explaining it and whispered to me "we do that! it's called big data" and i stared at her for a full minute

you’re kidding, right? i mean, I know the formula is /theoretically/ possible, but something like that exists??
i'm not even slightly kidding, it's called big data analysis (apparently -- i know very little about this but my mother works in information technology/management/possibly spy work (THIS IS ONLY MOSTLY A JOKE)) and like...governments ostensibly do not use it to commit genocide, but it's used in order to predict statistics (for example, the 2012 Obama campaign used big data analysis as part of its strategy)
woah. that video...woah. there were so many of them. and there were so many different accents and ways of pronouncing the words. and woah. okay, i was wrong. i get it. something that just saddens me is that everyone knew the words perfectly. you barely heard any stumbling. meaning, they've all said kadish before. probably multiple times. that's a sad thing to think about
right?? like the sheer amount is just kind of staggering
and yeah, it is pretty sad to think about. trust me, i know. the kaddish is actually one of my least favorite prayers, but that doesn't necessarily matter in this context
i have nothing wrong with the jewish community marching. heck, if i wasn't stuck in school, i would be /at/ those protests. but saying kadish is kind of..off. it's for family members. i put it too strongly when i sent the ask. i get why they're doing it, but it feels wrong. i don't know, i'm not exactly sure how to explain it. It's just so personal a prayer
yeah, but the fact that it is such a personal prayer is why it's so powerful. like i get why you might feel uncomfy with it, but like. it's not like they're being forced to sing it. it's a group of consenting jewish adults who are chanting the kaddish of their own free will.
like idk, maybe it'll bother you less if you watch the video? it's incredibly powerful. watching it makes me get choked up tbh.

they're saying kadish at the protests? that's not okay. major issues there
what are you talking about? what problem is there with a group of jewish people standing in solidarity with the black community and saying the mourner's kaddish for eric garner, mike brown, tamir rice, trayvon martin, aiyana stanley-jones, and everyone else?
please explain to me what the issues you have with this are
