Summary: playing games on the beach with taven.
Taven wasn't much of a game player. It's not that he didn't like playing games. He just never had the time. When he met you, things changed. You took vacations with him. He had no idea what they were, but they were fun. When summer came, you both decided on a new spot for vacation. He packed his things days ahead of time. He always liked to be prepared instead of waiting until the last minute to pack. The closest he ever got to playing a game was following his parents' task of hunting things down to save the world. Although it was a nice task, it wasn't very fun. He had no one to spend it with, and sometimes, his life was at risk. He lost the brother he had. Daegon didn't look at him as a brother anymore and killed off their parents.
Today was the day you both headed out for vacation. You were both packed and ready to go. You led the way, and he followed after you.
When you arrived at the hotel, you settled down and took a moment to rest from all the walking. You both settled for having delivery rather than finding a place to eat. When dinner was finished, you both sat and occupied the few remaining hours until bedtime. When the next morning came, you were both up and out of bed, ready to go, after finishing breakfast. You took Taven's hand as you led him down to the beach. Taven wasn't one for publicly displaying affection like this, but there appeared to be no one else around. Although the past was years ago, he couldn't help but worry that one day, you might get hurt by being seen with him. "Let's play that game over there." You said, pointing to the game of corn hole.
To keep it simple and avoid all that math, you told him the rules simply.
"If it hits the board, it's one point. If it lands in the hole, it's three points. The first to twenty-one points will win."
"That seems simple. Do we hand the bags back or anything?"
"No, just keep them. That way, we wouldn't have to walk as much."
He nodded as he held the four beanbags in his hands. He tossed them one by one to your board, and they all landed in the sand. He stood and waited for you to throw yours, which you did a lot better than he did. He picked up the bags and tried again. One landed on the board. Another one landed on the board and pushed the first into the hole. He wasn't sure how many points he had at this point. Would it be five or four? He tossed the last bag, which hit the board. He continued to play with you, no longer bothering to keep count of his score. When you won, he congratulated you. He could only hope that you wouldn't ask about his points, but of course, you did. He had no clue. He wasn't sure how many he had when that one pushed the other one. So he stopped counting.

Summary: you meet taven.
Taven had very little knowledge of Earthrealm and its inhabitants. He wandered around the realm, lost. Not knowing who to ask for help or if anyone would be kind enough to help him. When he stepped through the portal, he had expected it to take him exactly where he wanted. He didn't want to go to Earthrealm; he knew very few people there. The people that he did know were nowhere to be found. If he wanted their help, he'd have to find them, but he didn't know where to start looking or where they might be. He wandered around slowly, holding onto the hope that someone would be friendly enough to approach and to help him.
You were walking, paying more attention to your phone than to what was going on around you. You accidentally bumped into a man.
"I'm so sorry." You said, looking at him.
He was dressed in golden armor. His face was almost emotionless. He looked slightly worried about you.
"It's alright. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, I guess. Uh, your armor? It hurt."
"I'm Taven. The armor was a gift to me from my mother."
"I'm Y/N." You said as you held your hand out to him.
He took your hand and held onto it. He wasn't sure what to do with it. Handshakes were not a common thing in his land.
"Where are you from?" You asked as you shook his hand and pulled away from him.
"Edenia. I assume you are an Earthrealmer?"
"Yes, I am."
"Do you think you could help me?"
"Yes, what do you need help with?"
"I walked through a portal, and it brought me here. I am unfamiliar with your land and your customs here. I'd like to get back to my realm, but I'm not sure when another portal will show up."
"I can find you a place to stay until you can get back home, if you would like?"
"That would be very helpful. Thank you, Y/N."
"You're welcome. Follow me." You said as you began to head in the direction of a hotel. The hotel was near your home. Although you barely knew him, you didn't want others to find him. Not everyone would be as nice to him as you were. You couldn't trust that others wouldn't attempt to rob him of his armor. It looked rather expensive.
By the next day, you walked out of your apartment, not expecting Taven to still be here. You knew that the hotel had breakfast. You assumed he had already eaten, so you invited him to a restaurant for lunch, which he gratefully accepted. You both took the time to get to know one another slowly. You didn't expect to see him again the next day.
Taven was slightly suspicious as to how you always showed up around the time that he did. You passed it off as just being on one of your daily walks, and this was one of the many areas that you frequented. The days turned to month, and eventually, you both warmed up to one another. Taven had started liking you, but he wasn't sure if you felt the same. He wasn't sure of the human ways to court one another.
"Y/N, you're lovely."
"Oh, thank you!" You said, smiling happily.
Taven blinked and looked away. He wasn't expecting that response. At least it made you happy, though.
The next day, a portal had arrived, and Taven ignored it. He could have gone home, but he wanted you to come with him.
He bought some flowers from the local flower shop and handed them to you. You simply smiled and thanked him. He breathed in slowly. He would try again.
"Y/N, will you marry me?"
"I think it's a little too soon to marry…"
"I agree, but I do not know the proper human ways of courting one another. I've been trying…"
"Oh! Yes, I'd love to go on a date with you."
Taven slightly smiled, but at the same time, he was also confused.
The portal arrived again. "Y/N, would you like to come to my world?"
"I'd love to!" You said as he began to lead you to his world.
Edenia was only slightly similar to Earthrealm. Edenia was much prettier than Earth. There were many castles, and you began to wonder if Taven was secretly a prince.
There were no hotels in Edenia. The closest you could get was a castle. That night, you slept in Taven's castle and were woken by one of the servants. When you found the dining room, the table was already set with breakfast. After breakfast, Taven took the time to show you around his realm, telling you about various things in it.
That night, as you walked to your room, Taven followed you, going to his own room. You turned to him.
"Thank you for today. It was beautiful."
"You're welcome. Thank you for helping me around your place."
You stepped closer to him and gave him a hug, which he happily returned. He kissed your hand as you turned and walked into your room after wishing him goodnight.
Your smile never left as you laid down to sleep that night, thinking about your date with Taven.
