Phoenix and Darkwing Hanzo by Taux

I’m taking a little step back just to see my creation process. 1. You can see in the first draft of the drawing the general idea I wanted to go for with the drawing. But the anatomy and lines were way off and needed a bunch of adjusting to many any real sense. 2.I spent a good long while re-drawing until the pose felt right to me and used some reference images to help figure exactly what would be possible in this pose. 3. My favorite part, lining! Nothing better than nice clean lines to me! Re-drawing my lines and using some techniques to smooth out some acute angles that felt too sharp. 4 + 5. Colour and polish. When i started this, i knew I wanted to keep it simple, so I decided to go with just a little shine and no shading.  And of course some abstract background with my new favorite diamond brush. I’ve also learned that not everyone can see images in their mind, and some see the picture clearer than others. I’ve recognized I don’t get the clearest image when i think about what I want to draw, but instead key elements that I can mash together in a pose.
