Day4 of the #TarotMakeover and I asked the same question today as I did for Day 3; “How can I incorporate my passions into a successful career?” This reading threw me for a bit as all three cards I pulled (The Moon, 6 of Swords, and 2 of Cups) were reversed. Part of the exercise called for us to look for similarities or themes throughout the cards. At first glance I wasn’t sure there was a commonality, but the more I look at them, the more I think I understand that there is a common thread. To start, The Moon. I had to check the book on this one, especially for the reversed meaning, which is “delusions, lies, disappointment, anxiety.” Well, I’m certainly feeling a good amount of anxiety where my career is involved. But I also know that I tend to live in a fantasy world, so maybe, this card is reminding me to bring it back down to Earth. Having fantastical ideas and daydreams is fine, but if I want to truly find a new career path that is fulfilling in all aspects, I can’t expect to find it if I’m daydreaming about its arrival. Next, the 6 of Swords. In my deck, the landscape is winter in a forest and an unmanned boat is gliding down a river. The swords rest in the boat, and the boat’s masthead is a woman who looks as if she is serene but searching. Upright in my deck, this card means “travel, discovery of new shores, leaving old places and friends.” Reversed I’m interpreting it to mean that I don’t need to “go searching,” I need to hunker down and get to work. Swords are the suit of Air (intuition, flexibility) - I need to trust myself and take a chance right now. Lastly, the 2 of Cups. The deck’s image is two people locked in an embrace while standing on a hillside near a stream. I would take this to man, quite literally, embrace love. But this card is also about growth and partnership. Altogether, I believe this reading is telling me to be realistic. While I’d love nothing more than to be a professional witch, living in a cottage and trading spells, that isn’t necessarily realistic in this day and age. But, that doesn’t mean I can’t incorporate what I love into a new career! I need to ground and connect with my network to find support on the journey. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-g4jARnBZq/?igshid=x8pc1vg6ari3
