Tapho #3
I'd like to thank Melanie Goodomens Crowley for originating the Tapho aesthetic

Tapho is about rolling in glitter and wearing "ugly" makeup that makes you look like a zombie that died at a rave or a 80s glam rock show or even wearing no makeup at all and wearing things that shine and sparkle and make everyone look your way and wearing black too. Make your body a representation of the way our relationship with death should be; of honor and care, of a healthier society. Wear bones and too many rings, wear all that glitters and all that sings. Death is not a paper white, still body; death is a hundred things by virtue of it claiming all things like lost baggage and it is shining, after all, don't people say that when you almost die, you see light? Let us honor our dead, let us cover them in gold and let a funeral be a party and a celebration of the past and their oncoming future. Mourning is a sadness, yes, but let there be joy too, so we do not choke. Let remembering our ancestors be bittersweet, and let this be seen as admirable, instead of garnering fear and hatred.
Quick Tapho moodboard
All those posts like "disco and emo/goth* should come back as a fused thing now" make me have a proposal that I've been thinking on with @mirawonderfulstar awhile and I actually try to use moreso than goth for my aesthetic
Tapho. The melding of the aesthetics of disco and darker subculture. The modern day continuation of the bright gold covered care and almost worship of death and the funeral.
*yes, I know, two different things, they're also usually the ones most mentioned in this way, be a purist somewhere else
