(Dear lord, no. Iâm at a point in life where Iâm comfortable with who I am, but the world does not need two of me in it. Besides, weâd argue constantly. I have a bad case of Someone Is Wrong On The Internet And Must Be Corrected Syndrome.)
ŕš - Share an embarrassing story about yourself!
(So, the first thing you should know for this is that I took Latin in elementary school--second grade on up to fifth or so. (Homeschoolers tend to have...odd priorities when it comes to languages.) The second thing you should know, if youâre not familiar with Latin, is that it bears a strong similarity to several other languages, especially when it comes to the numbers 1-10.)
(When I was about 8 or so, I took a Spanish class taught by a very sweet grandmotherly lady. It was my first time in an actual class with other people, so I didnât have much sense of âlet other people answerâ and tended to yell out the answer if I knew it without raising my hand. We were working on numbers, because some of the kids in the class hadnât mastered those yet, and so I kind of zoned out. I knew those, I thought, so I didnât have to pay attention--I could just yell answers and then go back to daydreaming.Â
(Weâd made it through âcincoâ, and then she asked for the next number. In Spanish, thatâs âseisâ. In Latin, itâs âsexâ.)
(Guess which one 8-year-old me yelled at the top of my lungs, with zero context, at a sweet Catholic grandmother, in front of my mom and the moms of all of my friends?)
(Admittedly, I think that was more embarrassing for my mother than it was for me.)

(Iâm not, and have no intentions of being any time soon. Riella...might be. Her idea of âloveâ is complicated, not entirely healthy, and not limited to romance; she wouldnât say sheâs in love, but she would say I love you.)

There came the gentle chime of an incoming message on the console, which clashed with the immediate and loud groaning over the miles. Arachnia pulled her face back from where it was pressed against the camera, whining, "Sparkles, help me. I'm going to die. These new upgrades to my systems are /ugly/. What happened to form over function? Aesthetics?"
Riella grinned at the complaint, though she also reached over and turned down the console volume slightly. âYou ever think about, I donât know, removing the offending upgrades? Or is that not an option?â
