It seems like only a few days ago, that Velcro had told Tangerine not to come to his timeline. And yetâheâd come anyways, and had been set upon by several low-level monsters, who had seen the bright-eyed skeleton as an easy target.
Theyâd thought so even more when he only defended himself in combat, insisting that he was not there to fight, but was there to see a friend. It was laughable to them, that anyone from Snowdin would befriend such a weak monster, with no LV to their name, who was unwilling to fight back.
When Velcro stumbled across the scene, they had been jeering at the soft monster, crowing about how he was just âFREE EXPâ to be claimed.
In no time at all, they were running for their homes, fleeing from bones that flew in volleys, cutting them off from their target as the native Papyrus stalked over from the direction of his own home, Saber held tight in his metal hand.
Tangerineâs relieved words, his thanks for Velcroâs help, had all fallen silent when a hand seized him by the wrist, and pulled him away from the scene, and off to his own home, where they would stop just outside of it. A scribbled sentence on a chalkboard demanded an explanation, and Tangerine had given it with a lowered head, his shoulders hunched, and his arms hugging himself.
âIâM SORRYâŚI KNOW YOU DONâT LIKE IT WHEN I COME HERE. IâI JUST WANTED TO SEE YOU, ANDâM-MEET YOUR FAMILY, LIKE YOUâVE MET MINE.â Though Velcro and Plumâs meeting had beenâŚawkward, at best.
At worst, it could be called passive aggressive, with a great number of (rather insensitive) jokes being made at Velcroâs expense, with Tangerine expressing his displeasure of how his guest and friend was being treated that day.
âI FEEL LIKE I Â KNOW SO LITTLE ABOUT YOUâWHERE YOU COME FROM, THE PEOPLE YOU SPEND TIME WITH, WHO ARENâT ME.
I WANTED TO CHANGE THAT. Â
BUTâŚTHAT DOESNâT CHANGE THE FACT THAT I DIDNâT LISTEN TO YOU, AND YOU HAD TO SAVE ME BECAUSE OF IT. S-SOâŚIâM SORRY.â
Honestly, Velcroâs lucky he stumbled upon the scene at all. At first he thought perhaps the hunters had been harassing some kid or some poor sheltered soul who managed to escape. He hadnât be expecting to find his much softer friend.
The only reason he didnât dust those fuckers was because he didnât want to traumatize Tange more than this trip might already.
To say heâs a little heated is an understatement. But anger is familiar. He can deal with it. itâs fine. He covers his face (or mouth mostly) with his right hand and breathes a heavy, long sigh.... Before lowering it again to gesture for the other to come into the house.
Theyâve recently been fixing it up so itâs presentable again. Besides, itâs better to talk inside where people canât overhear or ambush them. Heâll give the other a stern talking to, once theyâre inside.
