- There you go. My little brother has outgrown them and I figured you needed something clean..errr.. to wear.

Varian didn't answer, he just stared dumbfounded at the clothes in his lap. This guard was clearly not following orders, how did he even become a guard in the first place Varian pondered.

- Hey, hurry up kiddo, get changed so I can take those old ones to the laundry room....

Varian didn't know what to do,  he did want fresh clean clothes but he didn't want the risk of the Notebook to be seen.

- Okay, I'm gonna step out, you make your change and I come get them later on my break. And, try to keep it up,kid, I've heard talking, there will be change for the better soon... very soon.

Varian shyed away from the guards gaze.Tears was burning inside of his eyes without really knowing why, but he refused to let anyone see them. He held them back. Rusty disappeared out the door, and Varian whispered a silent "Thank you" in the lonely cell.
