A few days ago, when you volunteered for a small battle against the neverseen, something that was supposed to be an in and out mission turned into a trip to the healing centre.

For the last few days all you had been doing was counting ceiling tiles, ingesting the medication your father kept giving you, and saying hi to all the people the came to check up on you.

The boy you were hoping to come still didn’t, though. You could understand, slightly. There was such a high chance of getting caught holding hands or him looking at you with a little bit more then concern by your father.

“34, 35, 36, 37.” You mutter to yourself, staring up at the pearly white coloured tiles above you.

The door to the healing centre opened, making you lazily look over before doing a double take at the figure in the doorway.

He had dark hair, as dark as the night with tips of silver glinting from the edge like stars with his blueish-silver eyes.

“Tam?” You say, sitting up straighter.

He walks over to your bed, pulling one of the chairs nearby to sit next to you. “Hi.” He says, making you smile from his shy tone.

“Hi back. What took you so long, hm?”

He blushes softly from your words, making you laugh softly, though it gets lost in your throat when he pulls out a small gift box from behind his back.

“I got you something.” He murmurs as you open it, pulling out a glass teddy bear that was in a shade similar to the silver in his hair.

You gasp softly, weighing it in your hands. It was as big as two of your palms, fitting perfectly.

“Oh my gosh, I love it! Thank you thank you!” He grins at your excitement, letting out that wide smile that you rarely see.

You carefully place the glass on the table nearby, grabbing his warm face in your hands and kissing him right after.

His eyes widen in shock before kissing you back, hands moving to your waist so gently like you would shatter at any moment.

It felt like the world stopped everything but your kiss, finally being able to hold tam for the first time in weeks. You could feel the shadows near you drawing closer, like they were an extension of him.

A throat cleared behind you, making you two spring apart like you were just talking. You turn around slowly, meeting your father’s eyes that were filled with amusement.

“Sorry to bother you two from your…talk, but I have to give y/n her medicine, okay?” He says, stepping closer to place a tray on your lap. Tam stands up quietly, moving to a wall farther away.

They watch you drink the horrible mixtures in silence. A pin drop could be heard.

Your dad picked up the tray from your lap, planting a quick kiss on your forehead before going back to his office.

Before he closed the door, he paused and turned around. “No funny business, okay? I don’t want to walk in and see that again.”
