So I’m like a day (or two) late, but here I am to answer your Amnesia meme-y-thingy. (Also, I have to post it as a text post because it got too long to send as an ask.)
Ukyo.
He/his route was/is/will forever be my favorite, but you knew this was coming. XD Ukyo – being a memorable presence in each route – was the most intriguing character to me. At one moment he would be kind and gentle – showing concern for the heroine, and in the next, he could change – becoming ruthless and hell bent on taking her life. This continued with no real explanations for his actions except for when he would start to speak and then trail off – leaving us wanting to know what he had to say.
When I finally got to his route, as each day played out – revealing more about who he was, his struggles, and his love for the heroine, I found myself becoming hopelessly entwined in his story, submerged in his sorrow, and wishing for their happy ending.
While Ukyo’s actions don’t take away from the other characters’ love for the heroine in their own worlds, it was Ukyo who moved me most of all. By the end of his route, there was no turning back; I fell in love with Ukyo and the heroine, and they’ve been my beloved OTP ever since.
I hope you don’t mind me not elaborating on specific scenes and exchanges between Ukyo and the heroine; in case someone who hasn’t watched the anime, played the game, etc. stumbles across this, I don’t want to spoil them.
