Eating gluten free in Japan is a pain in the ass, so I'm sharing a review from a random little place we just ate at. Everyone knows about Riz Labo and Gluten Free T's. But let's get Takagiya on the map too! I at least hope this helps at least one person have another option if they come to Tokyo.
--------------
Location: Sugamo, Tokyo. About a 2 minute walk from the JR/Mita station
Restaurant/Shop: Takagiya. Eat in or take out
Food: gluten free & vegan curry, salad, crepes, muffins, cookies, parfaits, mont blanc, and gateau
Price: 1,300¥ for gf/v curry, 420¥ for a gf/v muffin, 610¥ for a 6 pack of gf/v cookies, 1,500¥ for a gf/v parfait.
Safety: I explained I have an allergy to wheat, not gluten, and I heard her explaining to the kitchen that it was a wheat allergy and that was why all the gluten free. That being said I struggled with our discussion on whether or not the oatmeal was certified gf. Since I have gotten hives from eating non-gf oatmeal in the past, I steered clear of the bottom half of my gf/v fruits parfait and didn't get any oatmeal cookies. The rest of the gf goods appears to use rice/almond flour.
Taste: curry and top half of parfait were excellent, excited bear cookies are "meh" but beggars can't be choosers. Haven't tried my muffin or gateau yet. Sorry I didn't get a picture of the gf/v Japanese curry. Too busy inhaling it.
Verdict: Recommended!
