That was not the response Gemma typically heard when she told them a brief overview of some of her trauma. Surprised, she chuckled, “Well, I didn’t expect you to say that. I was assuming I’d get an ‘oh, I'm sorry that happened’ or ‘you are so strong.’” She smirked, arms crossing over her chest. It was amusing, to say the least. “Which, let’s be clear here, I fucking HATE when people pity me for that shit. What would pity do in a situation like that? Nothing. That’s what it would do.” It was pretty clear that Gemma wanted no sorry's or kind words. If she were honest, she would want to forget it ever happened. Yet here she was. “But, apparently, if you saw my brother, you’d probably want to fuck him. Or so that’s what he claims all ladies want to do.” Eyes roll, Gemma had heard it far too much to have made that up, “But please… Don’t do that. I wouldn’t want you to catch something they might have.”

Wanda released a sigh she hadn’t realized she had been with holding. She sank into the couch, taking the empty spot beside Taissa, she was relieved to finally have slipped under the radar and gotten the both of them to safety. Mutant hate groups were growing more in numbers and their relentlessness, it wasn’t safe for anyone now. Especially to be alone, it was better for mutants to be in large groups, or at the very least with another person. Wanda knew that Taissa would have some security to keep an eye on her, but Wanda was still weary especially since all of them are humans, one could harbor anti-mutant sentiment.
At first, Wanda was beginning to think that maybe her fears were just more on the paranoia spectrum, and that Taissa’s concert was going as good as expected. It wasn’t until afterward that issues were arising, like anti-mutant groups showed up and began to protest the concert. Both of the crowds had begun to get rowdy, until fists were being thrown at each other, escalating into a full fledge fight between the fans and the hate group. Wanda’s quick thinking had allowed her to grab Taissa and teleported the both of them, and the rest of the band, to safety of the dressing room. The assurance coming from Taissa did make Wanda feel better, but she knew she had to go back out there to stop the fighting.

BAR empty , tables show the signs of endless patrons with the watermarks that have stood the test of time. lighting dim as one lightbulb flickers , a PULSE of sorts. bartender keeps his eye on the side door - it's LATE , and he knows trouble rolls in around that time. the jukebox plays 'you were always on my mind' a song made even more eerie as one of the speakers has been blown out , DISTORTS the sound.
though , the patrons who have been coming for years pay no mind , they sit upon barstools that are lopsided , and wait for something , anything . . .
i hate this time of night , the time in which i'm at my MOST vulnerable. it wasn't a popular decision when i stopped selling drops , and i'm sure that one of OZ's men will make that clear. i look in the cracked and grainy mirror , and BLONDE HAIR with grey eyes stares back. eyes sunken in as my cheekbones are elongated by shadows. the shadows still curl around my frame as the flickering lightbulb goes out. a question raised as i lift my nonalcoholic beer - i've got to keep my wits bout me. oh look , a FRIENDLY face , last time she was fixed on bringing down a whole block of gotham.
