DOFLAMINGO.
You were used to the sight of your husband coming home with blood stained hands, but this took the cake. It wasn’t just his hands: it was his coat, his chest, his face - and the look he was currently giving you was enough to make you shudder.
“Really?” You were not amused in the slightest. “You do realise that I’m the one who has to clean you up?”
He did not chuckle.
“Hello?”
He took one step forward. Then another, and when his palms cup your cheek and Doflamingo pulls you in, you let him, and when he pulls away, he didn’t make the usual annoying comment or tease you, he walked off.
“Going somewhere?”
He sounded tense.
You were dressed to the nines.
“I always dress like this.”
He hummed once. He knew that. Still, he had to ask to quiet the thoughts spiralling in his mind.
You grab the bowl filled with water and a towel. Diamanté had it prepared for you.
When he sits on the couch, you remove the blood from his body.
“Explain yourself.”
“Watch how you talk to me.”
“Keep up with that attitude, I’ll have someone else clean you up.”
When you remove his glasses, the look in his eyes surprised you.
“What happened, Doflamingo?”
He was furious.
“Details aren’t necessary.”
“You wish to avoid the topic. I won’t let you.”
“Drop it.”
“No.”
He dragged out a sigh. “You’re a pain.”
“Congratulations on figuring that one out.”
He rolled his neck to remove the tension that was weighing him down.
“An unnecessary comment about our marriage was made, and I dealt with it accordingly.”
“Oh?” You squeeze out the excess blood from the towel, and wipe your hands with the spare one. “What was the comment?”
“I think your wife should have a second husband.”
You let the comment settle. Then, to his annoyance, you let out a laugh.
“Well isn’t that the truth.”
“Woman.” Doflamingo hissed. You laugh harder. He leans forward.
You push him back.
“You’re such an idiot. A comment like that affected you? Why?”
“Our marriage wasn’t a love marriage.”
“I learned to love you.”
“Tsk. That’s the problem. You should’ve loved me at the start.”
“You’re wrong. If I loved you at the start, it would’ve been forced, and we both would’ve been unhappy. Learning how to love you made me fall for you harder. You’re not exactly easy now are you? Plus I have my hands full with you, why would I need another?”
“You agreed.”
“As a joke. Now stop pouting!”
Another tsk escaped him. He put his glasses on. When you place your hands to his chest, and leaned in, he let you. You press your forehead to his and run your fingers through his blonde hair.
“I won’t let anyone take you from me.”
He was still angry.
“You only need me.”
“I know.”
SHANKS.
After the words were uttered, there was no going back for the drunken idiot at the tavern.
“Excuse me?” Shanks said, caught off guard, and was no longer smiling.
You side eye him. Try to reach for his hand. He did not accept it.
“I said, your wife should have a second husband.” He slurred, eyes rolling into the back of his head as he slumped over the table. “Should be me, I’d love to kiss her like that. Besides, you don’t look like you’re doing enough for her with that one arm—”
Shanks didn’t need to lift a finger for the order to be given, and when the shot rang out, no one in the tavern screamed. It was quiet. Then, “DRINKS ON US!” And the place erupted into cheers.
You watch the smoke from Beckman’s barrel, then the dead body on the table, and then look at your husband.
“He’s right.” You say, taking a sip of your drink, and when Shanks sharply turned in his seat, you don’t meet his gaze.
“Is he now?”
“If I had a second husband, he wouldn’t reject my hand.”
Shanks softened immediately. “It won’t happen again.”
And he took his hand in yours. You lean into his side.
“Never thought a comment like that would affect you.” You giggle into his neck, and Shanks hummed.
He was still tense.
“First time for everything.” He downed his drink in one go. “You don’t need a second husband.”
“Of course I don’t.”
He relaxed.
“The first one is too much to handle.”
Shanks laughed and the sound warmed your heart.
“First and final.”
You kiss his missing limb. Then his good hand.
“Yes.” You caress his scar. “First and final.”
SHAMROCK.
You’d think that Shamrock would be invincible to unnecessary comments given his status, but that image of him unravelled when a lady you were talking to made a comment about your marriage.
“Pardon?” You ask, still keeping the smile on your face, well aware of the dangers that would come if her words were repeated.
“You should have a second husband.” She sips her tea. “Surely there’s no enjoyment in it for you, being married to a man like him.”
You open your mouth to speak, but her head was cut off in front of you.
You don’t scream, you don’t shout. You look up in time to see Shamrock sheath Cerberus, and rest his hand on the hilt of his sword.
“Was that necessary?”
His eyes were hooded. His jaw ticked.
“Let’s go.”
You stand up and dust your dress. Soon, screams of horror filled the air, and when the husband arrived, he saw who killed his wife, and had no choice but to accept it.
You loop your arm through Shamrock’s, and avoid the curious eyes.
“I should tease you and say her words hold some truth. But I won’t.”
If looks could kill, you’d be six feet under.
You were smug.
“What? You don’t pay much attention to me these days, I’m sure someone would appreciate me.”
He stared at you for a long while. Then, he turned, and you thought that would be the end of it.
“I’ll think about it.”
“Hmm?”
“Appreciating you.”
If that came from someone else, you’d be offended, but hearing those words come from Shamrock was his version of I do appreciate you.
“Very well,” You lean your head on his shoulder. “Better be quick about it, I have my second husband in mind.”
“Who?”
He held back his control when saying the word. He hated every second of this conversation.
You happily grin.
“You’re teasing me.” Shamrock narrowed his eyes at you. “Stop it.”
“Say please.”
“Do I need to remind you of your place?”
You huff. Look away. He thought that was the end of it.
Until…
“My second husband wouldn’t talk to me like that.”
Shamrock bit back a sigh.
Of course.
ZORO.
Zoro knew that Sanji was saying it to rile him up, but Zoro did not think twice about drawing his sword and taking aim at the curly brow’s stomach to stab him, until you stepped in and got him to back off. You didn’t understand why he would take things that far, even Sanji was surprised.
“You don’t mention my wife.” Zoro spat. “Understood?”
Sanji blinked. “I was joking.”
“I don’t care.” The sword was back in its sheath. “Come at me for something else, not her.”
Then, he stormed off, and you follow after him after apologising to Sanji on his behalf.
“Oi, stinky!”
His tone softened at your voice. “What?”
Still, he was furious.
“What happened?” You wrap your arms around his waist and he sighed.
“That idiot. Talking about you needing a second husband and all.”
You chuckle. “That got you riled up?”
His cheeks tint red.
“Shut up!”
“You know I love you.”
“I know that.”
“I don’t need a second husband.”
“I know that.”
“Then don’t be so offended, my love.” You pull him down to your height and he rests his chin on your chest, and takes you down to the floor.
Zoro wrapped his arms under your thighs, holding you in place.
You brush his hair with your fingers.
Then, to tease him, you smirk.
“But if I did have to choose a second hus—”
He shut you up with a kiss. Gentle but firm.
“Shut up,” Zoro says against your mouth. His hands freely explore your body. “I won’t take it as a joke either. No one takes what’s mine.”
When you say his name, he grins against your mouth.
“Relax.” Zoro kissed you between your eyes, down to your cheek, then to your neck. “Let your first and only husband take care of you.”
ACE.
You were sleeping in Ace’s lap as Yamato and Ace speak about God knows what, until the conversation shifted to a topic that Ace did not appreciate.
“She’s fine.” Ace says, voice tense, when Yamato made a joke about being your second husband.
“You sure?” Yamato teased, wiggling his eyebrows. When he leaned towards Ace, and placed his hand to your forehead, Ace lightly smacked it away. “I can handle her the same way that you can.”
“No. And that’s final.”
Yamato burst into laughter. That woke you up. You bury your face against Ace’s stomach.
“What is it?” You grumble, annoyed at being woken up.
“Name, would you like a second husband?”
Oh how I love teasing him! Yamato thought to himself, and grinned harder at the look on Ace’s face.
“No.” You sleepily whisper. “I only need my Ace.”
Yamato forced back an aww. “What if it was me?”
Sleepily, you mumble. “In another life.”
Ace didn’t like that.
“Fuck another life.” He spat. “You’re mine in every lifetime.”
You sleepily smile and lean into him for his warmth. Ace’s eyes soften.
Yamato laughed. “So, I get her in one lifetime.”
When Ace glared at him, Yamato put his hands up in mock defence, and when Ace’s glare softened, his anger melting away, Ace laughed with him.
“She’s all yours.” Yamato grinned.
“Yeah,” Ace whispered. “All mine.”
