Via @whalesunderwater Here’s @pxlexplorer ‘s great video on the inaugural Whales (2 October) Underwater/@australiangeographic tour here in Tonga. “Today was tough, strong gusty winds and big swell. We searched our favorite protected spots, which turned out to be not so protected. But we ventured on in to the wind and chop. And boy did we get rewarded! We had amazing time with an active Mama and her big big 3 month old calf. Mama was circling and twisting along with her ‘little boy’. Here’s a quick video of Mama tail slapping and showing off to us her beautiful and awe inspiring strength and power. I’ve slowed the visor down a little bit so you can see the rippling of her stomach muscle as she slaps her tail, at least 10 tonnes and still to slap it into the water and keep her positioning! 💙🐋 “ #justamazing #tailslap #whalesunderwater #wuwhumpbacks18 #whalesunderwater18 #darrenjew #pxlexplorer #mumandcalf #humpbackwhale #underwaterphotography #babycalf https://www.instagram.com/p/BqQJbx9FjKY/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1aobhjxktwrrn
