and how taessun went from initially disliking oska to thinking he was alright and outright preening under his attention and throwing it in his old flame's face...well, it seemed a lot more natural than ra im and joo won's relationship, to be honest.
i don't know why i can't remember oska's girlfriend's name, because i honestly really liked her character. the way she stuck up for things she believed in and struggled to trust oska again despite being shallow and stuck up made her a really interesting character. i seldom begrudgingly like characters but she made it difficult for me to dislike her even though she got in between everyone i wanted to end up together.
but by the end of it i just wanted oska to forgive himself and be happy so badly that i was content with whatever made him happy. i wish he could've been happy with taessun, but as far as that goes, i like how taessun's sexuality was treated, how it was a facet of his personality that didn't really bother or preoccupy oska much at all, but it made his old flame see taessun as an adversary. like taessun was a normal competitive dynamic character and not just some flamboyant stereotype used to appeal to a certain fanbase and add comedy to situations. his whole arc with oska was so much more.
and it was kind of sad that the reason oska never entertained the notion that taessun might have feelings for him wasn't because he was outright disgusted by it, but because he thought so little of himself and so much of taessun's talent when they met that he thought there was no way taessun would harbor a crush on someone as awful as him.
so don't be surprised if i write fic where, somewhere down the line, they end up together. or at least a narrative that gets out all my feelings about how taessun felt for oska. because it's been sitting in my chest for months now and i wanna get it out.
