hi sai! sorry to bother, but do you know why Todoroki did not use his full powers when fighting Bakugou? i'm still a lil confused about it ;; (sorry if this has been asked before lol)
aaahh, itâs because Todoroki was feeling conflicted about his powers. he used them without thinking in his fight with Izuku, because he had forgotten about his father.Â
but then he asked himself, is that right? I promised myself I wouldnât use those powers no matter what, but then I did, because I forgot about him. and is that right?
he wasnât sure of the answer, and he didnât know what to do after that. because he broke one of his own rules, but he was able to remember his dream of becoming a hero and why he wanted to be a hero in the first place (All MightâŚ), and was able to use his fire without remorse, because he forgot about Endeavor.Â
but afterwards, he met with Endeavor. Endeavor was proud, of course, his son was finally using his fire- except. it had nothing to do with him. because Todoroki forgot about him and his influence. and Todoroki just wasnât sure if that was the right thing to do. he wasnât sure how to continue on from then, because he was conflicted about his emotions. should he still use his fire?
during his fight with Bakugou, he tried to use his fire. but he couldnât. he couldnât bring himself to use his fire, not yet, because he was still conflicted and confused. he still didnât know what the right answer was. he just⌠didnât know where to go now. because everything he knew for years were turned on itâs head, and now he just doesnât know what to do.
thatâs why he goes to see his mother after the Sports Festival, to help him make a decision. because he hadnât seen her since before he decided to never use his powers in spite of Endeavor. but now he did⌠so yeah.Â
long story short, Todoroki had a lot of conflicting thoughts and emotions during his and Bakugouâs match, and he wasnât able to fight at his full potential because of it
