Taco Point, 1009 S San Gabriel Blvd, San Gabriel, CA 91776
One of the best things about LA is all the street taco vendors. Taco Point has gourmet tacos, mulitas, and quesadillas, plus something different, sliders and chimichurri. The corn tortillas are handmade. They also have drinks.
Asada chimichurri slider ($5): This is what they’re known for – it has grilled cheese, brioche bread bun, asada/beef, chimichurri, guacamole sauce, onions and cilantro. I thought it would be a patty but it was chunks of grilled beef. Very messy. It was like a taco only on a soft bun. I liked the brightness of the sauce. The beef had a charred flavor and was a bit chewy.
Al pastor mulita ($4): al pastor, pineapple mole sauce, two handmade tortillas, guacamole sauce, onions and cilantro. There were two types of cuts – thin large pieces and chunks. The thin large pieces were too chewy and some of the chunks were too fatty. However, the tangy sauces were very good and so were the handmade tortillas.
Service was very friendly. The food took a long time but I think they usually have two employees and when I visited, they only had one. Online ordering is available. Cash and card accepted. They had one table set up for two.
