Tacianna's last night, before tragedy struck the world.
The night was like any other. Â Dinner with the family, talking abouteveryoneâs days, helping her little brother with his homework, any late nightchores...it was a steady rhythm for Tacianna, and she enjoyed it. Â She loved her family dearly, even if her dayswith them were drawing to a close. Â Sheneeded to go out on her own eventually, but until then, sheâd enjoy thesegentle nights while she could.
Tacianna was working with her bow when her father satbeside her, watching her work. Â âTac, youknow youâve gotten rather skilled with your bow. Â I always worried when you were younger if itwas the right choice, but youâve done so well with it.â Â Tacianna couldnât help but beam at thepraise.
âOf course! Like father, like daughter, right?â Her father just laughed and ruffled her hair.
âI suppose thatâs true.  Now listen. Tomorrow when you go out hunting, Iâve heard some mention of some sabersnot far from our usual grounds.  If youwouldnât mindâŠââChecking out the area?â  Taciannafinished.  âSure.  To the north-east of our grounds?â
âClose. North-west. Â Perhaps a little morewest north-west. Â Out towards the river.â Â Tacianna tried to picture a mental map ofwhere he was talking about.
âOkay, I can do that.â Her father just smailed.
âAtta girl. Â Nowdonât stay up too long.â Â Tacianna justgrinned again.
âI wonât. Â Justgotta finish up and then Iâll head to bed.â They exchanged goodnights before he made his way to bed, leavingTacianna to finish her work in the quiet of the house.
If only she knew that it might be the last time sheâdsee her family.
