#tablopan

This album is a nice live recording of a completely improvised set of music by Tablopan which is Hery Paz on Tenor Saxophone, Andrew Schiller on Bass, Robin Baytas on drums and me on guitar. This group, even though we only manage to play together maybe once a year, has always been a really comfortable situation for me and I always feel like we play strongly as a group.  

Recording music live has its challenges but under the right conditions it can be an ideal way to capture improvised music in its “natural habitat”. The concert was held at Scholes Street Studio which is, in my humble opinion, one the best rooms to play in NYC, it’s acoustically treated, they have good instruments in working order, solid quality recording gear and it’s also a beautiful space, so the recording turned out great and I decided to put it out as an official “bootleg”. I hope you enjoy.
