Tracing your features with their fingertip like you're a sculpture in a museum and they were not supposed to touch you, but god, they can’t help it.

Joseph looked down at his sleeping wife, a soft smile tugging at his lips. Her head rested in his lap, slightly tilted away from him. The fire had gone out half an hour ago, only embers left now but the warmth remained. The book Joseph had been reading to her was set aside, the page marked and ready to pick up where they left off tomorrow evening. They were currently sixty pages through Persuasion by Jane Austin. Tabitha had originally laughed at the suggestion, considering Austin too cliché when it came to romance novels.

But the one thing she couldn’t resist was Josephs voice, she found it soothing, engaging. He had a way with words that held her attention no matter the subject. He could probably read her an instruction manual, and she’d listen. Then again, most people who heard Joseph speak were drawn in and ready to join his cause.
