This episode was decent and I don’t have a ton to say about it. 

Solid banter between Higgins and Magnum.  I like the fencing scene to start, and I completely missed the foreshadowing of using something other than a firearm as your primary weapon. 

Good case, with the criminal informant getting pregnant from her HPD handler and then him planning to take the baby and probably disappear her.  The Sergeant’s wife wasn’t going to really pry into how one of his informants was just going to GIVE them a baby and everything would be fine?  But I’m sorry HPD is kind of taking a bit of a beating this season.  I mean we find out Lia’s brother is involved with the Company, and her Dad is a crime boss.  And I know that Lia is 100% loyal to HPD, so it’s just unfortunate that she might be judged because of that.  But now we have the lead Sergeant of HPD’s Narcotics and Vice Division not only be dirty, but a good portion of the Division is also dirty and will be under investigation by the FBI.  So yeah, HPD is taking some hits. 

We didn’t get any Kumu, but I did appreciate the conversations between Higgins and Lia.  Hmmm, I do kind of want to see a re-match/continuation of the fencing match between Higgins and Magnum. 

My two favorite parts came from the same scene.  I love Rick and Magnum teaming up to protect the informant.  My second favorite moment was Magnum using the neighbor’s compound bow to take out multiple bad guys.  He only missed once, and while the shots weren’t really long-range, he was really accurate with a good solid leg shot and several shots center mass.  But my favorite part was definitely Rick coaching the informant through her breathing/contractions as he tracks and shoots one of the dirty cops.  One, two, three, BANG, four!  Barely missed a beat.  Loved it!  I really hope they’re going to show him being a good dad.
