The local Family Video wasn’t as packed tonight, only a customer here and there along with Robin and Steve doing busy work. Steve had been stocking the gaming shelf with some Atari and NES games. Along side the usual Mario and Pac-Man was a random game with a pink label and Japanese lettering. Not recognizing the game, he set it to the side as he finished up. Steve finally completed his task and left the mysterious game on the counter to put away later.
Eddie had gotten a little bit of burn out brain for his DnD campaign lore writing on the game he'd been working on. Deciding to take a little break, get some air. Walking down to the family video shop as he knew when the restock and new releases would arrive. He could over hear Robin and Steve talking about some new Japanese game that must have gotten accidentally shipped out to the states. It peaked his interest.
"Is it for rental or final sale?" Asking while he looks at the cutesy game cover on the Atari box. It took him a bit to read before he understood the title. "It's some type of simulator game. How much for it?" Questioning with clear desire to buy. Robin looked at him and then over at Steve. "Six bucks." Answering his question. "Sweet." Eddie grins and pays for it. Pretending to not see Robin split the ones between herself and Steve. He takes the bag and walks back home.
Getting back to his trailer, grabbing some snacks before he puts the cartridge into the Atari. Messing with the settings until he could get the text to display in English as he wasn't awake enough to think about mentally translating everything for himself.
"Do not let her die."
"Huh.. okay, shouldn't be hard. Just gotta take care of her.. kind of like she's a pet.." Eddie murmurs to himself as he finally sees the little avatar of the girl on the box pop up on the tv screen. Putting in the name 'Eddie' when it prompted for a name.
