Pirates of The Caribbean 5 should not be called Dead Men Tell No Tales, it should be Salazar's Revenge
I'm not saying this just because I watched the UK version of the film, because for some reason South Africa and Australia always get the UK versions of things, but because Salazar's Revenge just makes more sense.
It gets straight to the point on what the film is about, it's Salazar's revenge. Finished. It's not really the best title in the franchise when you have Curse of The Black Pearl, The Dead Man's Chest, At World's End, and On Stranger Tides to compete with, but the weakest title does fit for the weakest film. And that's coming from someone who actually likes the film.
Why don't I like it being called Dead Men Tell No Tales? Because that implies that it's the final film in the franchise when it's clearly not. It's just stupid to call it Dead Men Tell No Tales. That phrase recurs so much in the other films and is said at the beginning of this one for the title drop, but it just doesn't work because this isn't the final film.
I'm not saying Salazar can't say "Dead men tell no tales" I'm saying that shouldn't be the title of the film. At World's End would've worked being called Dead Men Tell No Tales, Salazar's Revenge doesn't.
And the entire reason why Salazar's Revenge isn't the final film according to me is because:
1. There's no build up to it 2. Davy Jones comes back to life at the end 3. Pirates of The Caribbean 6, whenever that happens 4. It's nowhere near a satisfying conclusion like At World's End was 5. It knows it's not the final film and never once pretends to be the conclusion to the franchise despite its name
That's why it's Salazar's Revenge, that's why it's not the final film.
