She laid there on the floor for a moment trying to make sense of what she just witnessed. Sypris had moved the earth with just a flick of his wrist. Now she understood why he was revered as a god but her determination remained unwavered. She rose to her feet, her heart was pounding so hard she was convinced Sypris could hear the rhythmic thumping echoing through her chest.
Sypris hadn't seen her face and was still unaware that she had replaced the young boy in the hallway. Why was that boy there? Why was Sypris expecting someone so young yet hoping he remembered something about the past? There were so many questions running through her head, but there was no time to look for answers. If she was to survive this encounter then she needed to think of something fast.
"That was a nice trick Sypris" she said trying her best to sound unshaken but she knew she failed.
"It was no trick boy and you know it, that was merely the taste of my power, a power you have sought after for a long time." Sypris said, lowering his hand and placing it gently at his side. "You have always been weak, father was wrong to choose you over me."
She reached for the blade she kept at her side, the one M had given her on her birthday. It was a blade like no other, M said it had belonged to her sister and could cut through any material put in front of it. She hoped that included gods. She gripped the blade’s handle and began sprinting forward towards her nemesis. She knew she wouldn’t survive a prolonged battle with this monster and she hoped she could finish it with just one swing of her blade.
Sypris swung both of his hands in the air and summoned forth a powerful gust of wind, sweeping the child off her feet and sending her into the stone wall behind her, knocking her unconscious. Sypris began to laugh, ” you’ve got a lot of enthusiasm for a shell” he said as he began to levitate himself into the air “I can’t wait to crack you open and consume you!” His words shook the entire mountain causing stalagmites to fall from the ceiling.
"Get up Takara, you have to get up now!" a familiar voice shouted. "Get up Takara please!" The child opened her eyes to see Iris floating above her, she had forgotten her was still here. "Takara head to the far side of the throne room, there’s a passage way hidden behind inside the wall. Follow it all the way down, do you understand?" Iris exclaimed.
"Iris what are you talking about? How do you know that?" Takara asked while slowly trying to regain her balance."There’s no time to explain, I’ll distracted him while you make a run for it, now go. I’ll meet up with you again soon." said Iris trying to sound convincing. Takara knew Iris was lying, she knew that if she left him now that she was never going to see her friend again, but she did as he asked and ran for the passage way.
