Refocusing me – my new working day challenge

I have written a lot before about how I want to be a better me, and as part of this, I continually look at myself and see what I can do better.

And I did just that this morning!

  I was on the train to work, sitting down, without a paper to read (I was running too late to stop at the shop!) I was thinking and reflecting – and I started to feel stuck again. I couldn’t put my finger on what it was,…

A little while ago I used the awesomeSuperpowers tool (as part of the Teamworks product) from SYPartners to identify what my Superpower is – i.e. my natural talent that I bring to the team.

It was creative thinking.

This morning I’m off to top up my creative levels at an event in Folkestone for service designers in local government – or as my wife calls, a NerdFest for geeks!

A coffee with Natalie.

I met Natalie at the 99u Conference. She helped me on buying the SYPartners Superpower cards at the Studio Session (there’s a post about it at this blog) and a few days after the Conference I sent her a e-mail asking if she would be up for a conversation.

She is Director of Brand Development at SYPartners and she said: “yes, sure!” - so we scheduled a morning coffee in a bakery near her office. I must say I was really nervous about it. It’s a big deal. At least for me it was.

The conversation was so awesome that I didn’t wanted it to end. It was one hour full of insights, tips and methods. After the conversation, I spent one and a half hour digesting and writing down everything I could on what we talked about. And the topics went from hiring to hierarchy, to university partnerships and branding.
