Your moodboards are fantastic, and congrats on 1500! You need moooore! I wanted to request a Transformers/80s or retrowave moodboard but mostly wanted to say your stuff is really inspirational for drawings/characters
Thank you so much! I started making moodboards to capture the essence of certain characters and so i’m glad it provides inspiration! I I decided to combine synthwaves/retrowaves and transformers because they blended together nicely. The art that contains “NightBeat” in it belongs to Dmitry Grozov aka Ahriman on ArtStation

At least he didn't seem like he was in favor of it so much as, "Shit I didn't read it that way but the movie really made it seem like DC confirmed it." Which just reminds me of how much it pisses me off that it has so much staying power. About every time I talk about TKJ with a casual Batman reader IRL somehow it always comes around to, "you mean he DIDN'T kill the Joker? But I heard..." because a more hardcore fan had repeated it uncritically.
yeah, it’s honestly a fair reading, but you have to completely remove TKJ from comics lore to make that ending work. WHICH COULD BE TRUE, since TKJ is meant as a standalone and since the camera deliberately pans away, meaning IF ANYTHING CONTRARY TO CANON WERE TO HAPPEN, it wouldn’t technically be “in” a comic, which is what all of TKJ is commenting on.
but i think it’s also obvious that Batman is inventing the “we’re going to kill each other” endgame. the fact that the Joker doesn’t take him up on the offer is, in my view, a tacit agreement that they will keep doing this forever, not that it will end in death, but that the Joker has a vested interest in maintaining the game, and Bruce has a vested interest in hoping Joker will change his mind. There are no ultimatums for them, not really.
But mostly I just don’t see how a shared moment of laughter between them isn’t breaking the rules enough for people. That’s hardly ever happened at any other point in history (to my knowledge). Batman does NOT laugh at the Joker. Unless your point is that Batman goes COMPLETELY INSANE in that moment and BECOMES THE JOKER, there’s no sense in reading that shared moment as nefarious or cruel. Ugh. It’s a beautiful moment that’s revolutionary for how mundane it is, I just hate the murder theory.
