I have always loved the Prophet 5. There’s something magical about it; I rarely hear synths that excite me as much. The vintage one’s price point was always a bit prohibitive, but when I saw that @sequential_llc came out with the Rev 4, after listening to many demos, I was blown away by how great it sounded, and the loved the new features. When I got this one and played it for the first time, I felt like I was always meant to have this instrument. It felt like fate. I’m not the greatest keyboard player, but having this synth motivates me to practice more and improve my synthesis skills so much. This sound is the very first preset, 111. It’s such a great sound, and so exemplifies the classic Prophet 5 vibe, that sometimes it captivates me and I don’t end up making a new patch or trying other presets on a given day. I love playing this synth so much that it honestly makes it hard to do anything else than play it sometimes! I feel vulnerable and exposed putting anything out where I’m playing an instrument that’s not my sax or EWI, but working on getting over that and allowing myself to be vulnerable...
