1) thank you so much for A Spark, A Flame, A Fire — this got me excited again for a fandom I thought I'd lost enthusiasm for. You didn’t overstep, nah nah. Me, Nat, and Mystery Author talked about it and if anyone wants to write fic set in the A House Built-verse, we prefer you ask us, but we’re probably not gonna tell you no. We just like the courtesy to be given. But I’m fairly sure headcanons and such are totes okay. It’s just that MA is tackling the post-ASAFAF sequel and has ‘called dibs’ so to speak (with a giant fucking outline of awesome plans, lemme tell you).

Re the jake accent thing, there's also that log snippet going around where Roxy (I think?) says John and Jake sound similar.
Yes, I remember that coming up in an update! It's a delightfully vague sentence, though--it could be that the timbre of their voice is the same (what I personally believe), or that their pronunciation/accent is the same. If pronunciation, it could be that Jake and John both have outlandish accents, or that they both don't! Like many details about the characters in Homestuck, it's mostly left up to reader interpretation. That's one of the things that makes the comic fun. :)
"Did we ever find out what Karkat&co were like in their A1 iterations?" I swear there was some description of prescratch Feferi at some point, but I could be wrong
