“Hi, Tina Dehavilland, I’m with The Morning Star. Yes, like the actress, but it’s not spelled the same.”
And now it’s time to give this lovely lady a proper introduction! Meet Tina Dehavilland, designed for me by my wonderful girlfriend Sylph264!
Tina is most often set in the 1930s where she is a reporter for the newspaper The Morning Star. Her specialty is reporting on high society… and high-society gossip. She is exceptionally charming and perceptive, and is not above using these talents to get the information she wants. She is also a huge flirt with very little filter and will flirt with just about anyone.
She and Rose met through the paper, and they did date for a while. However, their relationship fell through for a few reasons. First, the two were so busy that they didn’t have much time to give to a relationship. Secondly, Tina’s penchant for gossip never sat right with Rose because the truth is what matters to Rose the most. And thirdly, Tina’s interview methods and lack of filter while on the job always rubbed Rose the wrong way. It was these last two points that ultimately ended things between them, though they remain close friends… and occasionally something more. The biggest exception to this is the modern-day college AU, where she and Rose split because of Tina always overstepping when it came to Rose’s boundaries, and Rose not knowing how to enforce them.
Tina is shrewd and an enigma to most — even to those she’s close to — and can easily take control of most situations. She’ll soon have you wrapped around her finger if you’re not careful. But she is extremely loyal to those she cares about, and she is absolutely the kind of woman you want on your side.
And now some fun facts about Tina!
Tina was originally a part of Ginger’s universe, and set in the modern day! However, she never got much use there, and she soon fell to the wayside.
As I was talking about Ginger and her story one day, I remembered Tina and realized that she was Rose 1.0 in a way. Also a reporter, also a huge flirt. The main difference between them was her role as a reporter on high society and high-society gossip.
I also realized recently that Tina would be pan.
I’d already had the thought of one of Rose’s ex-girlfriends working on the same paper as Rose and them splitting simply due to not having the time to give to a relationship. So when Tina resurfaced in my mind, she easily slipped into that slot, and their story and relationship has only developed from there.
Again, Tina was designed for me by my girlfriend Sylph264, and I will be sharing where to find her directly in a reblog later today. However, if you would like to see more of her work in the meantime, you can find her on DeviantArt as Sylph264, and on Instagram as sylph.264.
Thanks for reading, everyone, and I hope you enjoyed!
