Even though Taner's savings gave him a lot of cushioning and he could easily live off of that for a good while, he'd been working so steadily for so long it felt strange being away from it. That structure in his days and the routine had done him a lot of good, but it was also ingrained in him by now. That morning he oversaw the delivery and placement of some new furniture he'd bought for his home, then he had an interview that afternoon to take on work in the same field he was used to, just locally now, and with early evening encroaching he decided on a beer and live music. It was inevitable that he'd see Selin again. Small town problems. He just wouldn't have guessed she'd take up a spot near him at the bar. "And to what do I owe the displeasure?" There was actually no malice in his tone and his expression remained somewhat playful. Taner was actually trying to be teasing because he didn't truly want to keep fighting with Selin. It was futile. "There's a priest in here," his head tipped in the direction of one of the booths that lined the wall with the windows that looked out at the bay. "We can get you some holy water." As the bartender appeared, Taner gestured for her to order, a silent way of saying the drink was on him.
