âSo...tell me again why you have an interest in magic.â William posed his query with an innate sense of irony, for he spoke with a girl whom had one been referred to as the Emerald Witch of a little town in Germany. A town set deep inside the woods known as the Werewolf Forest. The boy had never known such superstitions still persisted in such advanced countries. However, he was not exactly one to judge, being the reincarnation of a dead king who commanded his own force of mystical elements. Something of a supernatural thing himself, he was. The boy inwardly sighed.

â Are ye lost? â he called. A quick glance around the grounds proved fruitless, as he was unable to see any adult who may have been with her.
Joker was unsure as to why someone so young would be allowed to come here unaccompanied, especially with the string of disappearances associated with the circus, so had come to the conclusion that she must have gotren lost and wandered in accidentally.
â The show finished quite a while ago, Iâm afraid. Ye shouldnâ still be hanginâ around âere. â
âMy my my, so youâre the infamous Emerald Witch. And to think youâre all the way out here in Great Britain--while youâre of German descent, now isnât that a tad bit out of character?â He approached the other individual, though they were of no different stature, a sense of superiority was still established between the two of them.
The young girl was down on the ground, sitting down and gazing up at him with...fear? Her eyes were wide with terror, and her body was visibly shaking more and more with every step he took closer. Well, her fear was justified in a manner--just by looking around. He briefly flashed a look around the room with mild interest, a smirk audible upon his lips.
Blood and corpses was everywhere.
Who knew the other âvillagersâ here would put up such a fight--especially with such surprising strength. Ah, he knew it. This wasnât a normal village after all--not one that still stuck to the remnants of the past, but rather disguised themselves with the skin of it. And here he was, harbouring such high hopes that it the former wouldâve been real--but alas, the latter was the far more likely explanation. The old days, no matter how desperately he longed for them, they were no longer part of this quickly developing, modern world of theirâs. What a pity.Â
Now, onto the current situation on hand, he met eye to eye with the said Witch once more. Again, she seemed to have the appearance and age similar to his--though of course age aside. They looked to be about the same age and had the same stature, but there was an obvious difference between the two of them.Â
âThough you may be called a witch, youâre still undoubtedly human. Above anyone else, I would know a real witch apart from one merely called one. You, dear Emerald Witch, are the latter.â He took another step forward, earning himself a panicked yelp and another crawl backwards from the fallen witch.
Everywhere around them, blood stained everything. Inside this room they were in, and outside all over the village. Truly, these humans were horrendously bothersome, especially with the tricks they had up their sleeves. However, their resistance was futile, as it only took the German king and a few of his soldiers to deal with and wipe out the entire village. Now, the only one left was the witch--previously accompanied by a man who seemed to be her bodyguard, but even he was now gone. Such evidence was held by the stiff, quickly cooling corpse that was collapsed behind Lest--the very last obstacle he had to get through before reaching his goal. What a pain it was for him, and such shame, that he had to kill humans that were once a part of his country--but that mattered not as they had been ultimately labeled as traitors. Certainly a pity and shame, but rules and established laws had to be uphold.
âYou, the Emerald Witch...or rather, properly known as Sieglinde Sullivan, allow me to introduce myself before I carry on with...my little task.âÂ
Though it was delayed, he still bowed to her in a respectful manner, a smirk on his face, âI am Lest Karr, the King of Germany.â He couldnât help but then laugh afterwards at the bewildered look on her face. Certainly, she couldnât believe that he, a child, could be King of a country, no? Well, she was partially correct, he couldnât be the King worshipped by humans, but certainly of a different race.
âAh, I see by the puzzled expression on your face, you seem to be confused. Allow me to explain--I am indeed the King of Germany--but not of humans. Iâll be willing to tell you that much.â The arrogant smirk upon his lips grew to look more sinister, âI am the King of Vampires, and the Third Progenitor amongst my brethren. Itâs a pleasure to finally meet you, Lady Sullivan.â Though she was still in obvious fear of him, he reached down to take one of her clenched, shaking hands. Easily drawing it outwards to him, he kissed the back of her hand gently before releasing it, âThough a human you may be, a Witch is still certainly a high rank and prestigious race. I have my respects for you.â
Sullivan still had a bewildered expression, now contorted with absolute confusion and even more fear. A vampire? What could he be possibly blathering about? Yet then again--just minutes before, he had displayed overwhelmingly, monstrous strength and power, easily handling any soldiers who got in his way. He didnât even hesitate to thrust a hand through Wolframâs chest and tearing it open in a gruesome manner. This child before her, calling himself Lest, was a beast.
âExcuse me for my unruly entrance, Lady Sullivan. I would have preferred a more proper introduction and first meeting, but Iâm afraid that what business I have here today contradicts such pleasantries.â He looked around the room they were in, a bunker hidden deep underground with eerily advanced, modern technology filling it.Â
Certainly, Sullivan had also been surprised to see such contraptions and machinery in her old village, where everything seemed to be a remnants of a much older era. Wolfram had brought her here as they were fleeing from the intruders, but unfortunately it had been a mistake to do so, as he had led their pursuer, Lest, right into the heart of their labyrinth.
âBy orders of the council and my decision, I have come to seek out the traitors of Germany, whom fled the human army of the country to all the way here in Great Britain. The group of said traitors have established themselves here deep in the forest, meant to be undisturbed and undiscovered, and to be able to freely carry out atrocious studies and developments of disastrous, chaotic warfare technology.â Every word he said stabbed her with overwhelming turmoil. Just what was he saying? Everything he said didnât make sense, but he spoke with such fervor and honesty, speaking in an almost bored tone as if giving an announcement of some sort--he couldnât be lying.Â
She, with her brilliant mind and vast intellect, could easily tell at this point who lies and who doesnât. This boy, Lest Karr, was not. Then, if what he said was all true then...everything she had been told as she was raised here in this village, as the Emerald Witch...was it all...? Could it really be...? Well, just looking at this room they were in, hidden away from her without any of her knowledge, yet Wolfram being informed of such a place as he had taken her here without hesitation--then did that mean everyone in the village had...lied to her?
âNow, onto my final task. Lady Sullivan, as much as it has been a pleasure to meet you, and be able to finally speak with you in person, Iâm afraid that just as everyone else here has been dealt with--you are the last remnants of the traitors who have fled here.â She knew it didnât require a brilliant-minded person like her to understand where he was going with all of this, âAlthough you were not aware of what you were involved in, and couldnât help but follow what others told you since you were taught all of this since you were a child, exceptions unfortunately canât be made. Not in a situation like this.â By situation, he meant with the village itself and the project it had been carrying out. It was far too chaotic and disastrous for him to even think about sparing anyone. It was far too risky.
How unfortunate, for Sullivan.
âIf I could, I would gladly bring you back to Germany with me, and âhelpâ you re-established a new life in the country; help you to work past this experience and previous life of yourâs, and so on. But, thatâs not in my nature to do such, nor would I have done such a thing if I was given the chance to do so. In this case, the latter is nonexistent--and these are simply orders to be followed.â He took a step back, without second thought drawing his blade from the cane he brought with him everywhere.
Immediately, Sullivan couldnât help but give a small sob, realizing the inevitable fate that was awaiting her. It was...unfair, to say the least. Such potential, such knowledge that she held--all of it would be wasted and gone. She had no successor, obviously, and everyone she knew was dead. Her legacy, everything she had been involved in without her awareness, all of it would be erased from existence. This child before her, he wouldnât hesitate. She didnât even get to have a chance to make a compromise and live. The cold look in his crimson hues, fangs flashing in the bright lights of the bunker, pointed ears poking out from his peculiar, bi-coloured hair; though little he may seem, that small vessel of his wielded unrivaled power.
Vampires are the absolute worst.
âForgive me, Lady Sullivan. Perhaps, if you are reborn and we unknowingly meet once more in later times, we could have a more pleasant meeting. Until then...may you sleep well.â His blade was turned and in the next moment, it was thrusted through her petite body and into her heart.
Blood was pouring, and everything was quickly growing dim. His blow had meant to be a deathblow--and to bring swift death, not leave her to suffer an agonizingly slow death. That was the only merciful act he could do for her.Â
Just before she blacked out completely, she watched as Lest turned on the spot to greet the other vampire soldiers that had accompanied him here. By the looks of it, they were done wiping out the village, and they were now moving quickly to collect and take back whatever studies and developments they had made. Of course, she doubt he was bringing it back to the people of Germany, but rather taking it back for his own kind. Humans he obviously could care less about. How sad.Â
A few seconds before life left her, she vaguely saw Lest then turn back to her, gesturing toward her collapsed figure with interest. A few of the vampires looked surprised at what he said, but she barely caught it. The next moment, he had turned to walk past the others and out of sight. Shortly aftewards, however, as the other vampires invaded the room to collect what they could, then destroy the remnants, one of them came over to her side to...gently pick her up. Even as she was dying in the vampireâs arms, at the last moment she was finally able to decipher, or at least understand what Lest had ordered for them to do before he left the room.
âBring that girl there, the Emerald Witch, back with us to Germany. At the very least, she can be buried and laid to rest in her home country.â What a lie, she had been born here in Great Britain, but still...she could appreciate the small gesture. Even if Lest was an atrocious figure.
Finally, at long last, she breathed her last and promptly slipped away, into the blissful, cold arms of Death. The village of Wolfsschlucht and all its occupants was no more.

Kaiimâs tail is an array of shimmering blues and greens. Itâs a bit on the dull side in terms of Merfolk but he doesnât let that bother him. Scales are littered around his body and his hair is a bit on the longer side when in water. He doesnât really enjoy anyone, Mer or human, touching his tail; itâs an intimate gesture meant only for someone of his choosing.
