I'm proud to announce that I managed to win 3rd in the UK National Open Category for the World Photography Organisation Sony World Photography Awards 2016 (as well as being in the commended 40 of the global entries for the Low Light category). So on Friday myself and my ever suffering fiancee Jodie headed off to Somerset House in London for the opening day of the exhibition which my photo, The Four Legged Traveller, was part of.
It was a truly memorable experience that I will never forget. Of course I took my camera with me and took some absolute randoms along the way with the camera that helped me create my place winning image, the Fujifilm UK X100T.
Not as many shots as I normally get, but if i'm honest i was like a giddy school child once I realised my image was not only exhibited as a print (i was expecting digital only) but also that the exhibit (therefore my image) is set to travel the world. Amazing!!!
Who knows, there may be the slightest chance that somebody will see/appreciate my work and i can forfil my dream of getting paid to capture the world around me. Even if that doesn't happen (crosses fingers and toes) the whole thing has been fantastic and a real lift that I will forever savour.
