"You mongrels don't even stand a chance." Here is the Gilgamesh (Fate Series) once again for his second round of Zombie Mayhem.
Welcome to Asphodel Valley, Gilgamesh.
You will retain your magic resistance. With regards to your status as a Heroic Spirit, you will retain all the benefits that such a nature would entail, though all your statistics are half as potent as they would normally be.
You will also retain your Gate of Babylon, though you cannot summon other Noble Phantasms from it, and its rate of fire is lowered drastically.
It was a hot day, even for the standards of Uruk. Most of the citizens were hiding in their homes or were seeking a shady place beneath the trees, except the ones who had to work, but even they made more breaks than usual. Nisaba stood in front of the throne room...her husband, Urnungal, fulfilled his role as a king in there, she could hear his voice. She smiled softly - yes, she indeed was proud of him and she was happy to be his wife. Who wouldn't be?
Slowly she started walking towards the garden close to the building. Actually she really wanted to see Urnungal right now - there was something really important she needed to tell him - but it had to wait until he had finished his duties. She chuckled a little and laid her hand on her belly intinctively. Then she arrived at the garden and blinked in confusion before smiling slightly.
"Hello", she greeted the man in there and stepped a little closer.

For the past few nights, Gilgamesh has been noticing something strange happening with the woman he was assigned to escort and protect. Normally, he would have retort to such an assignment but his Master, Emiya Kiritsugu, told him exactly what he wanted in order to protect his wife.
"Do whatever you wish as long as protect Iri."
A simple request that Gilgamesh can do in exchange for doing whatever he pleases. After all, he is a King. Protecting a single woman is the least he could do. However, as of late, Gilgamesh has been getting this unsettling feeling in his stomach. This odd sense of deja vu.
He sighed as he sat in the shed of the Japanese mansion that he and Irisviel were forced to hide. It was shabby and not fit for Gilgamesh, however, the castle that they were residing in before were in ruins so better here than there, where the enemy wouldn't catch them when they rested.
Gilgamesh sat on the chair that he summoned out of his gate and stared at Irisviel who was resting on the magic circle that Gilgamesh had to create. Labor, why must he do this work? That's why he had this unsettling feeling. Something was going to happen, to him, and to this woman that he was starting to get familiar with.
His red eyes just stared down at the woman with snow liked hair. He watches as her chest rise up and down. Gilgamesh was afraid that when he closes his eyes, she would stop breathing. Just like Enkidu.
"...Irisviel."
The King of Heroes finally spoke up as he saw the homunculus stir in her slumber. Her eyes fluttered weakly, causing Gilgamesh to stand up from his throne. His feet already pacing quietly to her as he ended up kneeling down to her. His bangs covered his eyes, hiding the unsure emotion that he was showing.
"Hmm...yes, Archer?" The woman asked in a weak voice, trying to hide it as if she just woken up. Gilgamesh knew what was happening now, he didn't want to think about, he didn't want to experience it again. However, he knew what her wish was, her true desire, that's why he could not be selfish in this manner.
There was no stopping this.
Just like how he could not stop his friend, oh so many eons ago.
"..." Gilgamesh wanted to speak, wanted to say something, but nothing came to mind. Oh how he was so desperate to say that he wanted her to live, because they have already forged a bond. An odd yet unique friendship. Not like he'll admit that he desire to have another friend. "Are you happy with your life?" Was the question he decided to ask.
Death was coming in close. Both Gilgamesh and Irisviel knew that. That's why, this will be the final conversation between the King and the Grail Vessel. Their time together was short but...oddly filling.
Irisviel stared at Gilgamesh, she blinked at the question before a faint smile finally settled down on her lips as she turned her head back up to stare at the ceiling. Feeling rather pity that there was no stars for her to greet. Only the light of the circle she was resting upon. She tried to move her hands but her human functions were too weak. The most she could do at this very moment was speak, breath, and dream of peaceful days that will never come for her. However, those peaceful days will go to her husband and child.
"I am...very happy. Who wouldn't be happy though? I met a man that gave my life meaning, though I do not understand his desires...but...my meeting with him was the greatest. After all, he help me gave birth to such a beautiful daughter, who wouldn't be happy?" The albino gave a soft laugh as gentle memories fill her mind. However, she doesn't even realize that she was crying.
She already severed her sense of touch. She doesn't realize that she also wanted to be part of that peaceful world that she was going to sacrifice herself to. How she wanted to be part of that peaceful family that she and Kiritsugu created, just like eight years ago. Irisviel continued to stare up at the dusty ceiling with a sorrowful expression. It hurts. Despite feeling no actual pain, the wound in her heart reopened again. She didn't want to think about it, the fact that she will no longer exist in this world, the fact that she will no longer be by her daughter's side, the fact that she has to be the one that becomes the Grail.
From the very beginning, she knew that this was her role. She did not complain, she knew that she had no other choice. However, she was becoming more and more selfish. The influence of Gilgamesh perhaps or her own desires finally coming to light? Regardless, she didn't want to die. She didn't want to disappear. She wanted to live. She wanted more memories than the ones she gain in eight years.
Gilgamesh watched as the dying woman laugh while shedding tears. He knew what Irisviel was feeling, even if she herself did not know, because she was still a young child when it comes to the world and emotions. That's why, it hurts Gilgamesh more so than usual. Life and death will continued to co-exist with one another. No one could truly escape death's hand. Gilgamesh tried but he failed. Humans will be humans.
He gave a soft sigh as his hand reached out to wipe away the tears that fell from the sorrowful woman's features. He saw her eyes widened up at him, realizing that she was crying. Gilgamesh knew, that tonight was the last night. Soon, the end of the war will come. That's why, it was now or never. The secret and precious moment between the two of them. Moving his hands, Gilgamesh lifted Irisviel's hand and held it tightly as he gave her a soft smile.
A rare smile, but it held nothing but gentleness of a parent.
"Irisviel," Gilgamesh knew what must be done to relieved the sorrow in Irisviel's heart, "For this night, and this night only. I shall be here by your side and listen to your desires. So speak, what is it that you truly desire?"
"...." In all honestly, Irisviel was shock but that was to be expected. Gilgamesh already knew what her true desires were, so why must she speak them out again? She was confused, desperate and scared. She was almost terrified to look at Gilgamesh, but she has been with him for so long, she knew that he wouldn't do anything to her. So, she shyly gave him a glance and saw the gentle expression that he was giving her. For her, and her alone. He was willing to listen to her selfish wishes. Her selfish desires. Her selfish dreams.
He was willing to listen to her. He was willing to see Irisviel's true nature.
"Don't be shy, Irisviel." He couldn't help but teased, hoping to light up the tension. "Just think of it as another secret between us." He grinned playfully.
"...haha..." Finally, she laughed. There was really no denying this man, she thought. Closing her eyes, she calm her heart, her mind, and her body as she stared up at the ceiling. Still wishing for stars to greet her, but she will make due with the ceiling and Gilgamesh's presence. He was like the stars themselves so it counts, she concluded. "That's why, just another secret between the two of us." She smiled, her cheerful nature finally kicking in.
"I...I don't want to die." She said it, the wheels had turned, the gears were ticking. "I don't want to die." She said more boldly as the tears were spilling again. Gilgamesh held her hand more tightly as he just listen. Not saying a word. "For a long time, I knew this day would come, so I wasn't scared. However...now that it's finally happening, I never felt so terrified in my life. There are still so many things I want to do, I want to raise a family, a normal one, one that doesn't involve magus, just a normal family. I want to see Illya go to school, make friends, live life like a normal little girl. I want to see Kiritsugu obtain true happiness. I want to be by their side...I don't want to disappear."
She gritted her teeth, unable to stop the tears that flow from her ruby eyes. "I never thought that wanting to live would hurt so much. I never thought that...it would be so painful. Even though I'm not human..."
"Irisviel, those wishes are proof that you are human."
"Huh?" The albino stared up at the ancient hero. Puzzled by what he meant by that.
"Wanting to live. Wanting to be by your loved ones side. Those are proof that you grew up to be a fine human. Remember, despite my blood, I am still human. I saw, my one and only friend perish before my eyes," Oh how Gilgamesh still sorrows after his friend's death. Even now, he cannot forget that feeling. "So do not feel ashamed. Your wishes are proof that you lived as a human and died as a human."
"...Gil...gamesh..."
"So I'll ask you again. Irisviel von Einzbern, wife of Emiya Kiritsugu and mother of Illyasviel von Einzbern. Mistress of the white castle in that snowy mountain that you were raised in, are you happy with your life?"
"..." Her last strength goes for the smile she gave, her final moments, her final words, all belong to this man now. Her time as a human being, goes to this man. A man whom she had a fleeting yet odd relationship with. However, she had no regrets spending her last moments with him. He brought out wishes she never thought she really had.
