Bishop Hensley Henson knew that opposing the policy could make him unpopular, but felt compelled to speak out. Bishop Henson wrote the introduction to this book describing the ways in which the Nazi regime was isolating and persecuting Jewish citizens in Germany. In it, Henson urges readers to make a ‘vocal and insistent protest’ against appeasement.
