Kirchner Museum Davos | Annette Gigon and Mike Guyer Architects | 1991-92 | Davos . In Davos we experienced an individual tour through the world-famous Kirchner Museum. Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880-1938) is one of the most important representatives of German Expressionism. Davos and his surroundings inspired Kirchner to create a large number of his important works. The museum offers the experience of seeing Ernst Ludwig Kirchner's art at its place of origin as well as the museum’s world-famous architecture. It was the first large commission to be realised by the architects Annette Gigon and Mike Guyer. It is now seen as a pioneering example of a new understanding of museum architecture, combining functionality and aesthetics, intrinsic architectural value and service to art in a remarkable way. .
