“I’m not having a conversation with someone that emerged from a bush.”
“Uh… Hi… Remus?”
Andromeda’s body and face felt hot, but at the same time they felt chilled to the bone. Out of all of the ways they’d thought their friends would find out about their… relationship with Severus, being discovered hiding in a bush with their fellow Slytherin and just about to kiss (possibly, it seemed like that had been the way things were going, their faces were very close and that was the vibe the sixteen year old had gotten, not that they had any experience with those sort of vibes). Granted, they hadn’t been doing anything wrong, but Drom still felt awful. However, they’d never expected Remus to be the first to find out or for him to react so… It was almost like he was mad.Â
“We weren’t… I was going to tell you guys, I swear… I don’t…” They stumbled, looking to Severus for help but failing to get any. “I’m not having a conversation with someone that emerged from a bush.” Drom’s eyes flashed with annoyance. Having no back up from Severus was bad enough but for Remus to be so unreasonable. Taking a deep breath to calm themself so they didn’t say anything they regretted, Andromeda looked Remus right in the eye. “I’m not ashamed about this. I like Severus. He’s a good conversationalist and friend - maybe even more. I’m not going to stop seeing him or being his friend just because you, the rest of the boys, and he have issues with one another. I’m sorry, Remus. I value our friendship deeply but I also value my friendship with Severus. I hope the five of you can at least be civil with each other for my sake. I’d hope I at least meant that much to you all.”Â
Pulling a twig out of their hair, and brushing themself off, Drom placed a kiss on both Remus and Severus’ cheeks - though they lingered just a little longer at Severus’ cheek - before turning and walked back up to the castle, hoping to keep a shred of their dignity.
